Your thought for the day/week is brilliant: "Confession: I’d never really listened to Kevin McCarthy talk, before he became Speaker of the House on the fifteenth try. In addition to being a shameless, power-hungry, Trump-fluffing traitor, he is also dumb—profoundly, excruciatingly dumb."

Good gods, McCarthy IS profoundly, excruciatingly dumb, isn't he? It seemingly leaks out of his head like Rudy's hair dye. To hear him speak is to lose IQ points by the minute. My dog with doggy dementia is smarter than he is (Thanks! I'll be here all week. Try the veal!). It is profoundly sad that this person is the Speaker of the House. It brings to mind the transition from Obama to Trump, going from Pelosi to this guy. Obviously, his California constituency isn't going to get rid of him, so again, WE'RE going to have to clean up another MESS in 2024. Ugh! Trumping Republicans!

On a completely unrelated note to this post, I did watch "Contagion" last night, and WOW, nine years before COVID, they got it almost exactly right. Even with Jude Law playing one of those quacks pushing his own version of horse paste. The only thing that seemed a little over the top were people rioting at food trucks, but I may have missed EVERY report that happened over the past three years. Good movie! Thanks for reminding me, Greg.
