Thank you! I'm glad you listened and got something out of it (as I did).

External considering helps develop empathy. But I think the danger is that sometimes it minimizes our own feelings. A refugee fleeing war is objectively worse than whatever someone here might be going through, but that doesn't mean that the person here isn't suffering. Suffering is suffering.

I am going to try the self-talk. I do talk to myself sometimes, always when no one is around...

That's Schumer's argument, and I understand it, but I don't agree. Not that it matters. We'll see now if his strategy will pay off, and he will have the last laugh. My guess is: no. Although his crypto holdings are better protected now...

Dubious of any celebration today Lizbeth, knowing Schumer’s idiocy! He’s the only Dem voting for a horrible CR, against a like minded Demographic party… always suspected he was a spineless traitor, he’s proven himself that last night!

have to AGREE as there's NO possible way to LIKE what idiot Schumer is leading other lame Dems to do with the CR... Schumer must be DUMPED ASAP... His brain must be going for him to NOT get what this can & will do... if it goes through our country is toast... He must NOT be paying attention to the systematic take down of our government & our people...

Excellent, thank you. I feel betrayed by Schumer’s stance. I thought everyone knew that if you give in to a bully, that they would just double down on their bullying. Apparently not.

And Trump bullied him personally, called him out, intimidated him. Terrible look.

Mercury retrograde beginning today (through 4/6/2025) seems appropriate :/

“What You Should Do When Mercury is Retrograde

The planet Mercury rules communication in all forms—listening, writing, reading, speaking, and so on—as well as activities closely related to communication, like negotiations and contracts. It also rules travel, automobiles, shipping, and mail.

So, when Mercury is retrograde, try to remain flexible, patient, and understanding, allow extra time for travel, and avoid signing onto any new contracts that you’re unsure of. Double-check your email responses and check in with reservations before you take that trip. Take time to review projects and plans before making decisions.

You can’t stop your life, but plan ahead, have backup plans, and be prepared for people’s shorter fuses and miscommunication.”

Taking a moment might seem like a luxury these days, but I think it’s necessary for our mental, physical, and spiritual health.

Claudia is amazing. Thank you for having her on. Thank you, Claudia ❤️🙏🏼

Schumer is way the hell past his expiration date as a “ leader” he’s got nothin left man!

I couldn’t see the eclipse because of the cloudy skies, it is all so appropriate. I am going to send thank you notes and post signs to all the freakin MAGAs who voted for this destruction of life as we knew it.

I am NOT better off than I was before January 20th, and give me the strength to keep my middle finger down to everyone driving a fucking “tesler”. Seemed I saw way more yesterday than I normally do, and I wasn’t even in Greenwich, CT!!!!

I feel bad for people who bought Teslas before all this. They bought them to save the environment, mostly. And now, this. But the Cybertruck? No. Anyone who bought that knew what Musk was and there's no excuse.

Jane Aldieri's avatar

Sure, I agree completely. A friend of mine traded her tesla sedan in for a Chevy 3 months ago, wanted no part of his kingdom! The Cybertruck is ridiculous. Those buyers have way too much discretionary income. I’d be embarrassed myself, and the greater % of buyers were environmentally conscious lefties. We will see if the historically brain dead climate change deniers fall in line with EV’s! I just got a cloud bomb of smoke from a real asshole coaler yesterday in a huge truck. Such a man!!!! I was so fuckin impressed!

I agree wholeheartedly (and I will add that I've been posting for years) that Schumer is NOT up to this fight. He has the personality of a sponge and is severely communications-challenged compared to so many of his peers. Aside, I cringe every time he attempts to say this is a "Hobbesian" bargain ~ trying to act philosophical to cover his cowardice.

Compare what the Democrat leader would look like in comparison to Schumer...like AOC, serious fire and attack; Whitehouse, measured but immediate and persistent response: Moskowitz and some of the real firebrands that see the divide clearly. Schumer is a quite little mouse.

Milquetoast representatives and senators are fine for "ordinary" times, but we haven't had those since about 2016. But oh, people were SO SCARED of the "radical progressive wing" of the Democrat(ic) party, and now, here we are. Schumer was obviously affected by both being called a Palestinian by Trump, and hearing the words, "The Schumer Shutdown," and didn't want that on his "permanent" record. Trump has used this kind of rhetoric before, and the only people it's supposed to work on is his dumb, fucking base. But Schumer, establishment moron that he is, seems to have been deeply affected by it, which come to think of it, is no surprise. I have never seen Schumer as a leader, even when he was the majority leader (in name only). McConnell STILL walked all over him, and we got speeches at the Senate podium from Schumer about how unfair it all was. Now, we're in a war, and Schumer, or Hakeem Jeffries is the general? No, thank you, I'll be paying FAR more attention to people like Bernie, Liz Warren, and AOC. These fossils and cowards, who can't keep their personal feelings out of their decision-making process, need to get out of the way, since they're in NO way, leading.

I completely missed the Blood Moon and the eclipse, and I think the skies were clear enough over Chicago to have seen it. Ugh! I DO, however, carry the Blood Moon in my heart, especially today!

Right, Steve, it's not ordinary times! Exactly! But the Dems are unaware. Merrick Garland and his ridiculous "norms." Stupid asshole, that guy. And now this. People say, "We need a revolution." I say, "There WAS a revolution, and our side lost." We need a COUNTER revolution, and Schumer ain't the guy to lead it.

I appreciate that you’re intellectual enough to say “devour feculence” and earthy enough to not be above saying “eat shit”. I’m still a registered Democrat (which was a good thing up until and throughout last year), but it certainly isn’t because of the party’s current senior leadership (if there is any).
