Who gets the $1.7 billion of tax payer dollars that Trump is stealing from the U.S. Treasury? Check these maps for people involved in the Jan 6th insurrection!
It's not a settlement. For it to be a settlement, there has to have been a court-certified case. The judge had not yet determined if there was a case, given plaintiff and defendant were on the same team. The date for that determination was May 20, so there isn't and has never been a case, just allegations and a demand for money - $10 billion.
Also, I wonder whose scheme this was. Trump in his addlepated dementia might have demanded vengeance, but he isn't competent enough to have finessed all the details on his own. Hannity? Roger Stone? Carte Blanche?
Thanks Greg for the insight into this bullshit. Nifty trick, "settle" just before a judge tosses the case. The most dubious "settlement" ever!
Of all the nasty characters in this charade, the most odious, hateful piece of shit is our supposed AG, todd fucking blanche. This bastard absolutely knows this "settlement" is highway robbery. His boss says todd let's stick a needle in the eye of the US, especially those who hate me. BTW just for kicks, twist it once inserted. The idiot is now laughing all the way to the bank, rest assured much of this money will worm it's way into his bank account, his alone. I can hear eric and don, "dad can we have some?" Response, "no you losers.".
trump rotting in a place worse than hell cannot come soon enough for this Old Man!
The fact that Trump has managed to weaponize the "Justice" Department to the point where he can use it to siphon money out of the Federal Government under a veneer of "legality" has turned parody upside down. This is all beyond any bounds of what, in a normal world, would be considered outrageous.
But here's what truly worries me: Trump is going to use this fund to pay his army of J6 thugs when he unleashes them on our streets in order to subvert our elections come November. I mean, does anyone really believe that this monster is going to allow fair elections which would result in him being stripped from power to face justice?
Are we going to allow ourselves to be led like so many sheep to slaughter? Where is the united opposition that we need in order to stop this madness now?
The idea of declaring our independence from the “cruel, greedy, stupid, feckless, brain-addled tyrant” is an extremely attractive one. It wasn’t that long ago that we believed we—‘we’ meaning us woke, democracy-loving citizens—had a powerful military that could keep us safe and protect us from tyranny. Now that that military seems to be owned by the tyrant, how are we supposed to get our independence? The tyrant has all the big guns.
we are all shocked by the corruption here, but there could well be a fantastic example of the Law of Unintended Consequences if the funding of the Commission actually happens anytime soon--it could basically shut down the IRS for the rest of the fiscal year. That's because the funds that cover this apparently have to come from an available fund appropriated already to the IRS this year, and it will likely eat up any funds left in the FY 2025. And the settlement is well over half of the funds trump has asked for the part of the IRS that allows settlement payments for FY 26.
It is the chunk of IRS called the Operations Support which pays for everything from stamps and building maintenance to Cybersecurity Ops to the actually salary of the IRS Commissioner and the entire office of same. It has its own appropriation, and it is likely not enough to deal with this.
I think but do not know that the date this all kicks in would be the date the funds the are transferred to the Commission, not the date the Commission starts rewarding cronies. If that happens to be in FY 2026, under trumps current budget the IRS would be shut down for all of FY 26. Th
It is all laid out in my Substack and if I am off base I am HAPPY to be corrected.
All pundits are still in silos. Ain't it awful. Awfuler than usual. Boy, are we mad. But not mad enough to coordinate ourselves.
I'm always agreeing with you on your podcast, but it's a big so-what from someone astute enough be able to do something more than complain. Maybe have me as a guest to talk about thinking together about what to do.

This extortionate fund is another one of Trump’s many impeachable offenses.
The corruption is real ‼️ I thought there was already a remedy for Americans who thought the government went too far in prosecuting them?
On a lighter note good luck in tonight’s Knicks Cav game. Yes I’m a Cavs fan.
Jefferson, Madison et al might have had it wrong. We're getting to the point we'd be better off with King George.

There are plenty who aid and abet evil. It pays well
Beyond sickening. Makes me want to file a 1040 filled with zeros. Ugh
These people clearly do not believe in karma, because...holy shit.
Those people don’t believe in karma but Madame Karma will exact her wrath upon each of them. Bigly. Beautifully. Boldly.

You are so right, he will do exactly that
I’m fed up with being sick over what this mafia is doing. Is there no way out of this nightmare?
Fuck, Fuck, Fuck!
It’s TUESDAY🎉 Put another nail in that coffin…

Damn, my bet is that they want us to keep paying. Of course, no audits for crooks
A Bribe Slush fund, pointed out by Paul Krugman in his post today. What a mess.
