Is what's happening in Tbilisi a preview of what's to come in Washington? Alexandra Hall Hall, the former British ambassador to Georgia, talks to Greg and LB on "The Five 8"
TGIF🎉🎉🎉Thanks for another year of your insightful, wryly funny, thought provoking essays, Greg. Happy holidays to all and let’s enter 2025 ready to kick some Democracy saving ass.
Sadly, you can bet that Proj 2025 will desperately try to bring the military under murderous control. Police forces seem to have many bullies, but still mostly good officers. However some government militias and MAGA nutcases may become murderous. If we are to bring mass protesta to fruition, we must plan strategy and tactics now. Good luck to you all. I am originally from Memphis, by way of ten years in Boston and five in DC, now in London for a long time.
What's happening in Tbilisi is definitely inspirational. I've been following this a little bit because I get a newsletter that has been covering some of it. If anyone is interested, the newsletter is called .coda or Coda Story. The CEO and editor-in-chief, Natalia Antelava, is originally from Tbilisi, so she has been on top of what is happening there.
Georgia is a beautiful country. I only know this because my grandson, who lives in Dubai, just got married there to a beautiful Australian girl. I was unable to attend the wedding but enjoyed hundreds of photographs showing lovely scenes from this venerable, vulnerable country.
Thank you Greg for this insightful piece and all you are doing. MX to all. Billserle.com
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Thank you Greg and family for everything you do to keep us sane! I hope you have an enjoyable time with your sons over their Winter Break!

Thanks so much, Lisbeth. You too!
Thank you Greg! Empress is such an excellent and insightful read. I highly recommend it to all your followers. Watching the world with bated breath.
Thanks, Helen. I'm so glad you liked it. It's my favorite of my stuff, i think.

It's all so scary. London seems a better place to wait this out than New York...
So far, the UK government is refusing to prevent Musk from giving $100 million to Nigel Farage, a total Putin turd racist misogynist. OMFG

Thanks, Rick. I appreciate the link. It's an important story.
That’s really disheartening.
Sigh.
Sound, solid stuff from whiskeyless undiplomat Alex.
Nice to see more high quality verbiage from another new future regular guest 'bring it' to the show.
Now catching up with everything. Looking forward to the MOafters!
Thanks, Cathy. Have a great holiday. We will be back with a vengeance. I hope...
You too. See you on the other side.

P.S. good that the population is still pushing in the right direction.
Thanks, Bill. It looks amazing, and that's what everybody says. Maybe one day I will get to visit...
Happy holidays!
