Abe Fortas was forced to resign in disgrace for far far less than Roberts, Thomas and Kegstand have done...this month.

SMH, another day, another billion, what's an oligarch to do to get a few weeks vacation away from the office grind? Keep at it Greg, eventually something will move the needle or light the match. Keep calling it what it is - corruption. A United States at war with itself is a weakened enemy.

Clarence and Brett are cut from the same cloth, both intellectually lazy, both bought and owned by (fill in the blank) - and the reason they still have jobs is because the Amercian public believe it unthinkable to fire a member of SCrOTUS - the same kind of thinking that gives us fits and starts about indicting an exPOTUS, even one that doesn't believe in Democracy or the Constitution and just coincidentally is also intellectually lazy and incompetent). An additional problem is that the very SCrOTUS members that would impeach Thomas may themselves be compromised, so they won't do it. Finally, it's time to term limit the injustices to some fixed term say no more then 10 years and to hope to get another term must show a record of achievement such as having authored 2 opinions per year etc etc - like any $285K per year executive job would demand. Job for life with no achievement requirements leads to corruption and torpor.

Ignorance of the law is not an excuse/option! Clarence knew he was wrong and lied for 20 years about Ginni’s income. 20 years not just a year here and there but 20 🖕ing years! Welcome back Greg.

Well said again Greg! Yes..I wanted to vomit when I read Clarence Thomas' insincere response to the article/ expose on the largesse of his & Ginni's generous "benefactor. " He either is the dumbest s.o.b. to ever sit in that bench, or thinks we're all more stupid than he appears to be. Millions of dollars in gifts & luxury vacations doesn't purchase Thomas' loyalty? Who's he fooling....

Of course Clarence and Ginny stink like last-weeks leftover lobster but cui bono? Fix the Court, before that broken part of our system destroys the whole contraption the Framers created

See what happens when you leave your post, Greg? All hell breaks loose!

As an outside contractor on a campaign trip with VP Nelson Rockefeller, I was gifted a whole blueberry pie in Minnesota! I was told by staff I had to give it back because accepting gifts was a big no-no. Being naive, I had no idea about the "evils" of gift-giving. I learned my lesson that day and have been on the straight and narrow ever since! 😬

Gosh, so much here. Let me get my knife and fork.

Firstly, for real? This dude's mother's name is Trammell, Trammell Crow? You cannot make this shit up. And in the same piece to to also read the word, and oh-so accurately used, "troglodyte", reinforces the mythical quality of our current reality. But what happens to cave monsters when dragged into the light? They go blind. They lose their power. So, we wait. The Son will come out...in our own goddamned hearts and not out of some mythical chariot in a fascist Catholic fantasy trope where the thunder hooves of asses like Ginny and Leo trammel the masses they deign beneath them. Fuck that.

This clearly (the meaning of the name Clarence = clear/bright, btw) is the moment for people to stop waiting for so-called justice and authority to be delivered on blind trust. That monster is flaccid. Just look at him.

Vote and hold people accountable and demand they hold appointees like all the weirdoes on the SCOTUS accountable. There's your second coming. I live in Tennessee. I am seeing this tide change happening now. I am optimistic. You are too, duh. PREVAIL.

Meanwhile, as you justly point out re "Justice" Roberts, I sadly have been wondering how much of all this nonsense RBG was aware of. It is worth asking.

Oh, and one last thing. Don't let up the pressure on Kavanaugh. I am sure owning one justice isn't enough for a collector of fascist symbolism and treachery. Collectors collect, after all.

Newsflash: Supreme Court is corrupt!

In other breaking news, water is still wet, and sun continues to rise in the east.

Why anyone thinks Republican Supreme Court justices would be any better than the average "jurist" in some Southern one-traffic light "traffic stop scam" town is beyond me.

Thanks for this depressing, but excellent, piece. Grotesque, dark, too many question, with too little that makes sense -- including the extent and duration of the grifting -- the inexplicable connections to nazi memorabilia with these dark connections. As most who are following, I’m counting on thorough investigations that reveal essential truths with facts. Let the digging begin! Damn, we’re so screwed.

And here I thought that a phrase like, "personal hospitality," would be a polite euphemism for prostitution -- not sex work, mind you, but prostitution, i.e., "the unworthy or corrupt use of one's talents for the sake of personal or financial gain." And this story doesn't change my opinion.

Will anything happen because of this? No, it's extremely unlikely. Clarence will not grow a conscience and resign. Congress will wait for the howling winds to blow over, so there won't be impeachment proceedings. And John Roberts, whose only concern throughout his tenure as Chief Justice was that the Court never seemed partisan and/or corrupt, will hide away from this. He will make no statements, and even in private, will make no mention of this travesty to or about Clarence Thomas. This is OBVIOUSLY, "business as usual." Who owns Kavanaugh? Business as usual. How many people on that Court owe their lifetime appointments to Leonard Leo and his cabal of Christofascists? Business as usual.

From what I've seen in the Dallas Morning News, of a story they did in 2014 (https://www.dallasnews.com/arts-entertainment/2014/03/21/history-abounds-inside-harlan-crows-home/), Crow owns a disturbing number of artifacts dedicated to "man's inhumanity to man." We all have our quirks, but I'm finding it difficult to wrap my head around someone collecting these artifacts, and being surrounded by them, and in some cases, commissioning them, without some kind of obsession going on. Whether the obsession manifests as hoarding or for the artifacts themselves, Clarence and GINNI, I'm sure, have had occasion to be inside Crow's mansion, and were not, apparently, put off by any of it. And why would they, what with the graft going on connected to it?

There is one thing all of these creatures have in common, their smugness. Clarence and Ginni Thomas, Donald Trump, Mike Flynn, Mark Meadows, Vladimir Putin -- they're all smug bastards, even Ginni. Most are older than me, so I continue to hope that I will get to see that smug look WIPED off their faces when the hammer comes down on their heads, and they're on their way to the hoosgow or the cemetery.

Apparently Clarence skipped the class in law school ethics, where the infidelity trial of Julius Caesar’s wife was discussed. After the trial, Caesar divorced Pompeia saying, “My wife ought not even to be under suspicion.” If Verdi was still alive, perhaps he would write an opera entitled: “La corruzione di Clarence Tommaso” (The Corruption of Clarence Thomas).
