If ever we needed a Pentagon Papers moment, this is it. Trump stole thousands of classified documents. I believe that he sold hundreds to foreign powers. I also believe that he was assisted in that effort by Kash Patel and others. No wonder Boom Boom Cannon is trying to bury it, and the useless Merrick Fucking Garland is helping her.
King Shitpants took a page from the KGB manual. Get everything you can and use it to control your enemies. The mother fucker sold them like a used car salesman out of the trunk of his car to the highest bidder. I bet Garland was an obedient alter boy. He can now go to the Hoover Institute. Where the penis breath holders watch their political careers die. Fucking country!
Honestly, I think Garland spent so much time in robes on that circuit court he didn't ever understand what the DOJ is and how it needed to act during this interregnum. He's a cautious, by the book guy, and that's not what we needed at this moment in history.
…..And Merrick Garland, the dithering coward, the tone-deaf twerp, the spineless castrato in robes who weeps whenever he speaks in public about pursuing the bad guys without fear or favor, possessed neither the courage nor the conviction to revisit an internal department guideline written when I was in diapers, because he didn’t want to upset the DOJ apple cart. Garland seems to believe that countermanding the opinion in that dusty memo is tantamount to destroying the entire institution over which he presides. He doesn’t bother to ask whether a Justice Department that can’t even bring a case against a fucking insurrectionist rapist mobster, let alone win a conviction, deserves to survive………
I really wanted Merrick Garland to do his job. He has gone after other criminals, but he just slow-walked all of Trump's cases. He should have appointed a special counsel the minute he was confirmed as AG, instead of waiting until Trump formally announced he was running for President in 2024.
My friend Sandi Bachom was on my podcast in October, 2021. She'd already been shouting to whoever would listen about what she documented on J6. She implored the government to go after the generals. But the planners never faced any consequences.
Convicting Trump for J6 was always going to be hard, but to let the planners walk is inexcusable.
And yes, if he wasn't going to do the job himself, appoint a year earlier.
Garland must be corrupt or compromised. There’s no other rational reason.
The stupidity and corruption, weaknesses and cowardice of our society is beyond the pale. I get so furious, that at times I just don’t give a fuck anymore. I’m old, so I can wish the whole thing would just blow up and leave the earth in peace to the animals and the rest of nature without humans. I was watching a WWII movie last night and I thought…good god we haven’t changed one bit..humanity that is. Go even further back in time and it’s always been the same story over and over again! We will never change. Enough!
I was really hoping I'd get to stop reading about Nazis, but nope. I guess this is who we are. We're about to find out.
I don't think he's corrupt or compromised. I think he's spectacularly inept, was never qualified for the job, has zero understanding of media relations, and focused too much on little things that Trump will undo.
Your most justifiable outrage is agreed and thank you for giving perspective to these crimes.
I say fuck Cannon and Garland, one a bought stooge, the other stupid to the highest degree by putting departmental policy over the national good. Biden must have a copy of the report , if not demand one. Hell he is President, he gets whatever he wants. Then publish it. Even if there is some archaic rule that says he should not, fuck em, he's got immunity. Allow us to focus on this rather than paying attention to what the imbecile will spew in his inaugural address, the old hits will keep on rolling, he can't help himself.
The first thing on my lost of Sixteen Things Biden Can Do is declassify and release all the incriminating documents about Trump that the FBI and the various IC divisions have. But he didn't do that and won't do this, either.
There are thousands and thousands of people who would have fared better. He's been that terrible. We needed someone to TALK TO US, and the few occasions when he did, he seemed to resent having to do it.
As a former military officer, who thoroughly understands the gravity of the granted privilege of handling classified documents—all the recurring training and stringent procedures—I too am furious. What’s the point in having an AG if such egregious behavior isn’t prosecuted and in effect gets rewarded?
This piece could do almost as much good as the actual documents report. It made me want to scream but I sent a message to the AG instead, borrowing some of your wording for my message:
“Please drop the charges against Waltine Nauta and Carlos de Oliveira and drop the second report! These two are only under indictment because they did what their boss, Donald Trump, told them to do.
Release Jack Smith’s classified documents report before it disappears. We paid for that report and deserve to read it. Don’t allow it to be hidden or destroyed.”
It can’t hurt, prolly won’t help, LOL, but I’m trying to find small steps to take.
If you’d like to send a msg, go to https://www.justice.gov/contact-us (I used the “contact us form” and selected “message to Attorney General” as subject line.)
"...that TRUMP said was prepared for him by the Department of Defense..." Not that he needs justification, for there isn't any, but I'm guessing here that Trump's simian brain "calculated" that since the DOD prepared reports "FOR HIM," that they were HIS to take. That, of course, doesn't explain all the other stuff he took with him, the least of which it seems, was the dignity of the Office of the President.
Remember how we all thought that since Obama had chosen him to be the next Supreme Court justice that Merrick Garland was the absolute BEST choice that Biden could pick for almost anything? I remember. Pepperidge Farm remembers. That was a historical misjudgment of character. Well, "character," a meaningless word, especially coming in less than a week. "Without fear or favor," and all the other platitudes we've heard through the years must be ending in their heads with, "except Trump." This is sort of like the old thing, which I STILL do, where you read a fortune cookie and add "in bed" to the end. It's usually pretty funny. "Except Trump," not so much.
Cannon was a flamenco dancer? Really? Seriously, get Chunk on that! In the meantime, how does she have any authority over releasing the report of Trump malfeasance of the classified documents case? Who or what does she think she's protecting? We already have a convicted felon about to become president again, so what difference could it make now? (Oops, Hillary!) Trump has once again captured the presidency; what are they going to do, impeach him again? Third time's the charm? Weak sauce, at this point.
My mom and I took great pleasure in ripping to shreds a piece of "send us money" mail we got yesterday with an "URGENT MESSAGE" from Hakeem Jeffries. I am a registered Independent and will stay that way. Biden had some great highs and a couple of very low lows, Merrick Garland being the lowest of the low. Democrats are flailing around right now, asking for more money to do what with? Buy more knives for the gunfight?
Completely off topic, I saw this morning that disaffected TikTok users are scrambling to other sites to try to keep up with what they think will be a ban in the US and have mostly flocked to another Chinese social media app called, roughly, "The Red Book," which sounds like an Instagram in China. Most are going there TO SPITE the American government, which I found to be hysterically funny (at my age, I'm all about the lulz now!). Apparently, the app was never meant for English speakers and is only being used with a hefty dose of Google translate by Americans. So far, Chinese users have welcomed Americans, and the two groups are exchanging information about cultures. One item said someone was trying to make Chinese followers understand the concept of student lunches. So, yeah, ban TikTok, by all means, and find out it's just going to end up being a Whack-a-Mole game. I'm a little tired of being told that I might be a VICTIM of an "influence psyop" because, apparently, I'm still too stupid to recognize one in progress, and don't have my own thoughts on anything. I could become a Manchurian candidate at any moment if TikTok is allowed to continue in the US. Be careful out there, people!
Cannon took lessons in flamenco or something. I can't remember the details. It's in her CV somewhere. Marco Rubio, a disgusting traitor, found her, God knows where. Is she coming up with all this legal trolling herself? One imagines no.
The Dems have mostly capitulated. Not all of them, but too many. They will all show up at the inauguration and pretend everything's peachy. They don't even have the cajones to boycott that event. Disgraceful.
I like your "except trump" game and will have to try it.
Is TikTok actually banned? All that will do, ultimately, is destroy steady revenue streams for a lot of people. Well done, Congress. [sarcastic clap]
TikTok is still going until the 19th, unless SCOTUS saves it. I just saw Michelle Obama is boycotting the inauguration, and good for her! Barack should too, as well as Hillary and Bill. I am, I know that!
I just received this notification from NBC News: “A law banning TikTok has been enacted in the U.S.," the message continued. "Unfortunately, that means you can't use TikTok for now. We are fortunate that President Trump has indicated that he will work with us on a solution to reinstate TikTok once he takes office. Please stay tuned!" I would assume there will be many young people that will think our new president is a hero for saving their beloved tiktok. What a guy!
It’s TUESDAY🎉
If you say so...I've been on such a whirlwind, I keep thinking it's Wednesday...
Yes, it needs to be leaked to a journalist. The problem is, can we depend on a MAGA oligarch owned outfit to publish it?
I’m out of words, except, thank you.
Thank you.
Cannon has no standing. She dismissed the case.
True, but still he dithered.
Hither & Thither Democracy Withers Cannon Blows He Dithers Much Tears Mucho Sangre Rivers ...

Biden should have fired him two years ago.
I agree. He failed us.
For an equivalent recital of the M.I.C.E. (money, ideology. compromise, ego) motivations (except ideology) for Trump's likely betrayal of essential strategic information to America's main enemy, check out America's original traitor Benedict Arnold; https://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/benedict-arnold-turned-traitor-american-revolution-180958786/
Thanks for this, Richard. I didn't know much about Benedict. He sounds like he'd have been a real troll on Twitter...
My blood is boiling too. I want to reach out and slap Garland awake.
The stupor is one he will never wake from...
Pure Gold, to wit (your words follow):
…..And Merrick Garland, the dithering coward, the tone-deaf twerp, the spineless castrato in robes who weeps whenever he speaks in public about pursuing the bad guys without fear or favor, possessed neither the courage nor the conviction to revisit an internal department guideline written when I was in diapers, because he didn’t want to upset the DOJ apple cart. Should woulda coulda but dinna 🤬.
Nope.
Me too. I had high hopes.

(I'm in agreement with LB's assessment that it is a mob bust-out.)
I followed her on T before I got banned. Straight talker.
Your most justifiable outrage is agreed and thank you for giving perspective to these crimes.

Joe went from hero to goat in what seems like a heartbeat, sad and bad
I am angry with Biden about this and so much. Why isn’t he protecting our country??
Why all these crooks are protected I’ll never understand.
Same.
Money oozing like molasses in every nook and cranny. Repubs are a sticky lot with a tint of green.
Too little too late, but I can't help but think Marc Elias would have fared better as AG.
Exactly that, Earl. There is no point. Because there is no more rule of law if these traitors get away scot free.
Oh there is for the poor suckers. But the scale is weighed for the rich
This piece could do almost as much good as the actual documents report. It made me want to scream but I sent a message to the AG instead, borrowing some of your wording for my message:

Thanks, Mary Ann. I wonder if Garland has thick enough skin to read criticism of him. I think he doesn't. He's a coward.
