Regarding the conflict in Ukraine my one disagreement is your optimistic prediction of Ukrainian victory without an air force or a navy. Frankly, you can't defeat a great power like Russia on the battlefield without both and we don't have time for a homegrown solution. If Ukrainian lives matter, establish a no-fly zone at least. Unless and until Putin's minions are roundly defeated in their operation areas no one can claim Victory much less Peace

I too heard the music in the title before I even knew what the column was about. If I didn't think they'd get arrested or shot, I'd encourage as many people as would fit in Red Square to, day and night, sing these new lyrics, to Roger Waters tune. "Hey! Putin! Leave Ukraine alone!" with candles, fists raised, whatever it takes. I'd love to see Roger's reaction to THAT!
Putin isn't going to give this up until he's dead, which is a far more likely outcome than Ukraine's defeat. We MUST continue support for them. Why DO people go to these things? And am I understanding correctly that 1) there are still some people that think there's Nazis running Ukraine, and 2) that if you're against uniting with a fascist right, you're one of those BAD Venezuelan socialists? I'm a little late commenting on this article, but I have to say how I'm always amazed at safe and comfortable celebrities telling those whose lives and families have been murdered en masse should just stand down and let the murderers keep rampaging. Being sanctimonious to feel morally superior is really easy when you have no skin in the game.
