I’m only slightly embarrassed to admit I just became a paying subscriber to PREVAIL because I just got some of the most fun in memory reading this guest column. I went from a few chuckles to chortling to a full fledged guffaw at the Jan Brady line.

I can’t wait for Parts Two and Three.

You give words to the disdain I feel for the court’s most vacuous judge. I remember somebody saying that George Bush clearly thought Clarence Thomas was the best lawyer in America, and he might have been right. Even at the time that was damning with faint praise. This was, after all, the man who put pubic hair on Anita Hill’s can of Coke, and hasn’t done anything else that clever in three decades.

Unfortunately, Senator Danforth could have upheld.his oath of office and our misery would have never began. Anita Hill was screwed, which is what The big C was attempting. He was a convenient black Catholic that the good ole boys club could force on us. Danforth, was money and power. Not everyone back then was videotaping with an iPhone. There were no iPhones.

However, offices and buildings had security cameras. Some of the Clarence frolicking just might be out there. He would then resign. .....uh retire.

Enjoyed this very much. By now it's clear that ReTHUGlikkkans fight dirty (which includes massive hypocrisy, cheating, stealing, lying, lying through omission, etc). I'm hoping this new Administration won't roll over & turn the other cheek but instead cleverly beat The Grand Old Pharty at their own game, but w/o breaking laws. (Norms? What norms? Did #MoscowMitch & his pet mangowanker leave any norms unshattered?)

I wish I would have been more attuned politically most of my life, but I was just living and breathing and not paying a bit of attention. I did start waking up over the Bush Jr years but really didn't look back on history much. Moving to Australia in 2002 and seeing America from the outside really woke me up, plus I married a man involved in Australian Politics, a public servant, and a history junkie, he has taught me much.

My mother followed politics religiously so during my high school years and during Watergate, I did get a brilliant overview she was always reading books and watching hearings, good or bad she watched Tom Syder faithfully, and I always stayed up with her. Once I moved out of the nest my life was a wild ride, politics? WHAT'S THAT? I regret not being politically active. But it's come around full circle and I am my mother's daughter. Again I thank you for the important information. Knowing is half the battle. This was a colourful "fun" read, of a very serious matter. I always find myself rambling too much here. LOL Proof that your column is always thought-provoking

'...In fact, he is quite possibly the most consistent jurist in the history of the Court: he always votes for the cops against the suspect, for the wealthy against the employee, for the Republican political machine against the disenfranchised voter, and for the church against taxpayers who don’t want to support parochial schools. ..'
