Idk who I was reading the other day but the poster said trump was basically a lame duck president. As of now he can’t run again and therefore some republicans may not be in lockstep with Dfg. We still have some guardrails in place: can’t amend the constitution unless 67 Senators vote for it. I keep the faith rn and hope for the best! Great work Greg. How was the show on Sunday?

Well this was a fun read. 🫥 I vacilate between *can he* and *will he* do XXX.

This was posted today on Bluesky and it’s important to remember in light of what we are looking at heading our direction come January - and beyond. It’s about the need for community and how we need to keep our actions non-violent - if that’s possible.

And finally, if you’re still on Twitter, why? Leave it to the space nazi and his merry band of incels. Once we are all gone and there are no longer any more liberal tears to drink, I believe they will start to turn on each other.

Thanks for laying out many of the details of how 2025 American fascism might play out, we need this. I also think it's absolutely necessary that we get grounded right now. Fear is paralyzing. We can't give it space.

We can muck things up in the courts for as long as we need to, but the biggest obstacle will be finding a medium to reach GOP voters who consistently vote against their own interest.

This election showed us that the right wing propaganda ecosystem is literally hundreds of times bigger than most of us imagined. When reality hits and things get tough for MAGA voters, maybe seeing the power of a democratic resistance will inspire them to wake up. They are not stupid, they are just horribly misinformed.

They’re ignorant and stupid, believe me.

I like the term 'propaganda ecosystem' because it does exist...while it is much larger than the core cult, I do think it is much more vulnerable to serious and accurate information and, thus, change. So, attacking those states of knowledge would be the early targets for testing language and its effectiveness to persuade.

The immensity of the alt-reality that the right has created dawned on me when I watched some clips of Trump voters after the election. The response of 2 voters especially hit home: one with a "Latinos for Trump" shirt on who seemed to be totally oblivious to the fact that he and many of his friends and family could be rounded up and put in a camp (prison), and the other was a woman with a white hijab and a red "Arabs for Trump" shirt on. She had a look on her face like "we showed the Democrats! ... didn't we?" She almost seemed to be having second thoughts and maybe realizing that she just signed a death warrant for the remaining Palestinians in Gaza. Electing Trump was the green light for a complete genocide.

Low information seemed to characterize many of the non-cult voters. That, to me, implicates the media, newspapers and broadcasters, who seemed to be in the bag for Trump via either their ownership or the board CEOs, all of which were GOP. It was a loaded hand imho.

One frightening topic I haven't seen much about is the Trumpian future of AI. AI is one reason why Orange Musk terrifies me. If it weren't for Trump, to fight inflation, I'd say Nvidia stock is a sure thing. I'm a computer nerd and studied philosphy of AI before AI existed. I bought Nvidia stock in, I think, 2017. Happy to make a $1500 profit, I sold it. If I'd kept it, I'd be much, much happier. Courtesy of employee stock purchases, approxumately 75% of Nvidia employees are millionaires. Since I bought Nvidia stock back just at the start of 2024, it's up about 120%. Imo, it's a much better hedge against inflation or general chaos than gold is. It's not a dot com bubble. AI is going to radically change our world. More recently, I bought another stock for about $7/share. It's up about 85%. The company makes quantum computers, bizarre, mysterious things that have to be kept super-cold and vibration-free. The government just made a big purchase from the company. We are on the brink of amazing changes, computers capable of doing wondrous, science-fiction-like things. What they do depends on how they're programmed. Enter the fascist programmer. Imagination shivers.

Also, though, looking at my AI stocks, I have wondered... For good or bad, will the Orange One use AI -- in which case, although I may be a blue casualty, my stocks should do well? Or will he just stupidly destroy AI, like he destroys other promising things? But now... enter techo-Musk. My shivers are shivering.

That is a lot of stuff of what Trump plans to do, but I think SOMETHING will happen to throw everything into disarray for him. He can win things like elections, but they don't really stick. We've already seen how he "handles" a pandemic. How would he handle another one? How would he handle a 9/11-style terrorist attack from Iran? A natural disaster in his home state from hurricanes? Or how about a giant earthquake in California?

He seems to think he can "govern" at his own whim, and that everything will go his way. Admittedly, TOO MANY things have gone his way, but there are always those black swan events that he won't see coming or have any idea how to handle when they do. Trump and his crew have never considered the idea that there ARE bigger things in the world than Himself. I think it was LB who said in the live show Sunday night that Mother Nature can always rear her ugly head, and I agree. All is NOT lost!
