Accidental but apt!

Wow. Incredible. Bases loaded, last of the 9th, a game over walk off Opus Dei orphaned George Herman Ruth leading to Louis Gehrig, 1928... Home Run. A Black Coffee Special.

Thanks, Sandy!

Little Leo sat the bench and watched. He’s a substitute for Adolf Hitler, Putin, Stalin, and Pius 6th. I’ll take John XXIII. To tolerance.

Yes. He bought SCOTUS.

The antisemitic Jew is the most difficult. They hide close to the Vatican...arch Catholic and good faith friend R. Peter Grace was right up there when Popes visited. Along with ring kissing John Coleman of Adler Coleman on the Floor of the NYSE. Peter liked Dad, Dad liked Peter, no one liked John. Not even John. The NYSE Floor was special. Catholics ruled with Total Authority till Block Trading and The Disclosure Committee of Gordon Teach, set up by Bill Casey - on which I sat. That did it.

That tracks. Grace was a Democrat, but politically savvy enough to serve in the Reagan Admin.

Peter Grace was no snob...but he was American Catholic royalty. Popes “knew” Peter on a first name basis. John Coleman, the same. Catholics ruled the NYSE Floor. Had access to the White House..to presidents.

How dispiriting.

That's a good word for it.

That pig. Pay taxes FFS that dirty money leaves a mark. Yeah paying taxes means black and brown kids go to school. Get over yourselves cigar chomping women haters. Something’s gotta give.

Expand full comment

The money they spend on this shit to not pay money in taxes is really something.

Thanks for breaking this up into 2 parts; by the time I got to the end of each part I was seriously nauseous. Taken together would have been too much. 🤮 I think these dark power "Catholics" are the shadow side of the historically powerful institution of the Roman Catholic Church. Way too much power. Addicted to control. Great post, and I'm still chuckling at the image of Alito in drag.

I was going to do one part, but I'd have to make the blurbs much shorter, and it just got to be too much. I'm sure there are a lot of people I didn't include but could have, too. It's a lot. Alito, heehee.

Fitting this comes on Independence Day bc we’re really not independent at all. We have turned into a country that is owned by a small few, who decide what we can & can’t do.

If I was worried about democracy before reading this now I’m terrified! They’re winning on destroying democracy. A lot of those ppl are relatively still young who have a bullseye on democracy’s death.

Biden won’t expand the court bc he doesn’t then want the Republicans to expand it when they’re in power- ha - they’re going to eventually expand it anyway so why not give ppl back their rights even for a short time?

So Greg, how do we stop this money machine, the shadow government Leo controls or do we?

George Carlin was right about everything!

Expand full comment

Carlin was right on the money, if only he could have had a larger influence on todays rigged game against “We the People “!

Expand full comment

Carlin saw things clearly but about the only advice he gave was to stay home and masterbate rather than go out to vote. (Pardon for the language, it was funnier when he said it)

Expand full comment

Ha! I love Carlin. My father took me to see him for my 16th birthday.

Oligarchy stinks.

Well, we broke away from England because a bunch of rich, slave-owning white men didn't want to pay taxes. One flows from the other.

We have to shine a light on all of this, and make Leonard Leo famous. The only way to create demand for expanding the court is to show people why we must.

Magnificently well written and researched piece Greg, enjoy your independence??? Day!

Thank you!

Fabulous frightening read. Thank you for all you do to enlighten those of us who frequently take deep breaths but continue reading!

Thanks, Lois. I take deep breaths too, especially with this one.

One more thing.

Do we even have a snowballs chance in hell keeping democracy in the future or are we just shoveling shit against the tide?

Maybe I got my answer with NO “we shall prevail”

Aja Raden on my podcast made a great point: Americans don't want to live under fascist rule. We don't like to be told what to do. So I think, ultimately, we will be ok...but it may get rocky for a while.

Greg,

A very succinct synopsis of the underbelly of the Republican, Libertarian and Christian nationalist pols and their financial supporters. Nice research and fun prose. Thanks.

Thank you!

Great research to connect the dots. I was part of the “normal” Catholic Church as a child. At this point I have nothing but disdain for the multiple ways this religious force has undermined true “Christian” values.

Thanks, Peggy. Mainstream Catholics should be ashamed of these people, for perverting the teachings of Christ and most of the priests.

St. Francis of Assisi was the real deal. There were few.

I have absolutely nothing against people of small stature. I myself am one. But have you noticed how many of these horribles are little guys? Leonard Leo--little guy, Jim Jordan--little guy, Josh Hawley--little guy, Ron DeSantis--little guy--etc. etc. Just sayin'.

Expand full comment

Hawley is 5’11” not so little lol I had to look it up bc I always thought he was very tall I guess bc he is so thin he gives that appearance. Yes, they all have Napoleon syndrome!

Expand full comment

Oops. I just assumed Hawley was short. He is so very short in all other ways.
