The upside-down "Stop the Steal" flag incident reminds us that Justice Alito allegedly had a critical role to play in the January 6 coup plot. Was he aware of it?
Regarding Alito I choose presumption of guilt over benefit of doubt. Sorry Sammy, too many inconsistencies in your past make it highly likely guilt trumps benefit.
Yes. And this being America, they are entitled to say what they want...except that HE'S ON THE SUPREME COURT TRYING CASES DIRECTLY TIED TO THIS. Disgusting.
The super-rich and their six #GOP toolwankers on #SCOTUS are desperate to have a Republican president in 2025, otherwise their 30 year GOP plan to end democracy will fail.
Thanks, Dana. I'd settle for him being thrown off the court in the most humiliating manner possible, but if it went down how you said, I wouldn't be in the streets protesting... ; )
"Was Alito aware of the Jan 6 coup plot?" Of course he was. So was Clarence Thomas, at the very least. What I fail to understand is how one SCOTUS judge could have issued an injunction to stop the certification of the election and think that was going to be the end of it. As if the rest of us, whose votes would have been thrown out by such a move, would have just hung our heads and said, "okay, you win." Maybe, in a way, it's good that they still think the Left has no agency.
"The traitors are easy to spot," but when will ANYONE do something about it? Trump seems likely to be found guilty this week or early next week, and yet, I feel no relief that any justice is being done. He has fought tooth and nail with lies on top of lies, and I have to wonder if yet one more coward will sentence him to house arrest, or probation, or maybe just a fine, all to be served AFTER the election. NO ONE is really making anything happen that looks like justice. Alito and Thomas will just go on as they have been, with look-at-me! MAGA sycophantic behavior until they die, because they're arrogant liars. We are being ruled by a cult leader and his minions even when he's not in office.
On a lighter note (HA!), I watched "Civil War" last night and highly recommend it. The best way to see it is to go in with as little knowledge of it as possible. I think Oscar will come calling for Kirsten Dunst, and Best Picture. Many 1/10 reviewers on IMDb called it "boring," and I have no idea what movie they watched. See it. Learn from it.
What really boggles the mind is that the Justices, and by extension their politically active spouses, are in a position to know what's REALLY going on, more than most Americans. And yet they still buy the Q bullshit. It's like when trump had access to the PDBs and just watched Hannity instead. The incuriousness! The disdain for what's right! It's really appalling.
My prediction, not that it matters, is that Trump will be found guilty, but he won't get prison time, MAGA will never care, and by November no one will even remember it happened.
My youngest saw CIVIL WAR and said it was amazing. I'm sure I'll watch it at some point, although I've also heard that it will upset me. But if you like it this much, Steve, that moves the needle for me.
Forgot to address the Alito election business: I forget where I read this, but it was one of the good guy law scholars. The Constitution says, apparently, that the vote MUST be certified such and such days after the election, which means on January 6. That's why they chose that date. The scholar said that if it HAD NOT happened that day, there WOULD have been some murkiness, in terms of legal stuff. We'd be in uncharted waters. The Alito injunction may not have worked, but it would have stopped the certification...maybe...and after that? Who knows. I'm glad we never found out.
And I thought we'd have a reprieve while waiting for Strip-Search Sammy to give the adjudicated rapist a wholesale immunity pass.
A reader, Alden H., over on Jessica Craven's ChopWood/CarryWater, created the website below for citizens to file a complaint against both Alito and Cannon. You need to download the complaint with the accompanying justification for it and send via USPS. The address for the Court is provided in the website. It's really easy, so easy that even I was able to do it without a hitch.
WOW. Sadly, I can believe it all.
And since I wrote this, more evidence of MA being a total loon, and also a huge asshole, has emerged.
Yay! Crap.
He is human garbage through and through
He is, and she is, yes.

Same.
HAHAHA. That is my favorite Scooby Doo episode ever. x
You have favorites? They all blur together in my mind.
If Alito showed up in Rut-roh Land, I think you'd remember!
Right on Greg as usual. Alito and his wife are showing us how they really feel for all these years. It’s treasonous behavior.
Yes. And this being America, they are entitled to say what they want...except that HE'S ON THE SUPREME COURT TRYING CASES DIRECTLY TIED TO THIS. Disgusting.
Thank you, Greg

#GOPtraitors
They are Renfields in robes, all waiting for their vampire. Disgusting.
DANG that's good writing. And the reveal is chilling.
Thanks, Mindy. Not sure if anyone else has been covering this, so I wanted to put it out there.
Strip-Search Sammy is DEFINTELY a traitor. I want him tried, convicted & executed.
Great reporting, Greg

Neither would I. Celebrating perhaps? Pretty sure I wouldn't be alone.
It’s TUESDAY🎉 and this is a tour de force👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you!
I took a screenshot of your Alito altered Scooby. May I use it elsewhere?
of course!
Thank you.
Really getting concerned about the immunity case! 😡 Great writing Greg!
Me too. They are just trying to delay, I think, but that doesn't make it better or right.

Let me move the needle a little more: Kirsten Dunst's character made me think of Zarina Zabrisky. The film IS amazing.

Thanks, Greg. With this latest on Martha along with Ginni, it looks like you have another book to get out!
That's great, Lynell. Thanks for sharing.
Strip-Search Sammy. How did this fall into the memory hole?
Excellent wordsmith of the facts.
Thank you
Thanks, Cal.
Love this and am really horrified anew at your excellent summary of the mess we're paddling through in Rough Beast!
Thanks, Gwen, and thanks for reading the book. It IS horrifying. Ugh.
Wow!
Indeed.
