Thank you, Greg. Putin is and always has been a monster, a Hitler 2.0, with his Trump Mussolini Assolini (Palmer Report), his #MangoWanker (Donelson rant). Both strung up from light poles would not nearly be enough. Personally, I think setting them on fire in Red Square would be fitting, video recorded for posterity, shown on tv on Putin's birthday every year.

OMG spot on! And what an EXCELLENT post. I'm in the middle of reading Gulag (Anne Applebaum) and it frightens the shit out of me. I'm sure Putin would love to live Stalin's days all over again. WHY CAN'T FOX be SHUT DOWN? This is driving me nuts. And the rest of those morons need to be held accountable, Never to Hold a public office again, and really should be tried, sentenced to life for the rest of their lives. Thankful the USA don't have confinement camps but maybe they should just be sent to the East coast of Russia for the rest of their lives. FREE Alexi Navalny!!!

An older friend of mine once said that there are no bad people, it’s just a matter of your perspective…

That said, it’s outrageous that Putin didn’t lie, he’s gone ahead and done exactly as he said he would, attack Ukraine in his quest for a return to the “good ‘ole USSR”. The fact that almost simultaneously Republicans are following Russian lead on how to create an American autocracy. It started long before now, more likely during the long talks Ronald Reagan had to “tear down that wall” in East Berlin. Along the way, Republicans learned how best to spin the message to reach their targets, gerrymander in a more insidious way-by computer targeting, which is maybe one of the very things R’s are learning on those “Moscow weekends” they still attend. For certain they are becoming masters of the messaging-pulling in all of the formerly careless under the rock, “never voters”. With Trump as the “celebrity Puppet” in the WH, all they had to do is “let him loose” for propaganda, (merely outright lies)chaos, Us vs Them separation between liberalism and far right conservatism or the lucrative autocracy. As front men, Trump and Putin are subject to the moneyed men pulling their strings. I believe the only way that this war can or even will stop is if pressure is put on these moneyed men that Greg so eloquently wrote about. Ukraine is holding the Russians at bay, but the war on their citizenry is going to become the humanitarian war crime of this century, worse than Hitler’s top officers who carried out Hitler’s orders, and added the twist that made his orders extremely evil.

We also need to keep talking about the midterm elections with our followers to get as many to the polls as possible, or as many authentic mail in ballots we can by knocking on doors, computer messages to every friend, foe and family member we can dig up, to help them process their mail in ballots, if necessary. We cannot let R’s win back control of congress, they are masters of bs promising much but doing absolutely nothing going forward, everything being repealed and taxes being lowered for these elite Republican Donor Bosses.

Another Excellent article that feel like a college class. Each point you make sends me on a hunt for background information through your links or the prodding of my intuition to find out more. And each time I do that it deepens my intellect and understanding of what is going on in this "crazy" world!

I am so glad to see that good old gal Tulsi made your list. Back in the day when she was campaigning, a friend who lives in Hawaii and who knew all the skinny on her, was posting constantly that she was a wolf in sheep's clothing, NOT an American patriot hiding behind her former uniform, but a complete fraud, bought and paid for by VERY dark money (aka Russian) and with an agenda.

Fine scribbling and excellent comments.

Support deporting Murdoch.

At 82 I think about “manunkinds” history.

When that first human picked up the Jaw bone of an ass and killed another human over scraps of food. And when man invented gods. The gods of war have been with us for a long while.

I am not big on the word “evil” but Putin is definitely a bad hombre. The experts of course are going to great lengths to describe Vladimir. He doesn’t seem that complicated. He is shorter than Napoleon and a not a military genius but a bureaucrat promoted into a position that provides for his ego and delusions of emotional grandeur.

However Vladimir and all his criminal oligarchs cannot put Russia back together again!

(Back in the early 90’s I tried to prosecute Russian Organized crime in the US but was denied that opportunity by US politicians)

So we find ourselves a few seconds away from nuclear extinction.

Sooner than Kolbert anticipated.

In reflection, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen and so on. Young men in buildings in the US desert hurling murderous drones thousands of miles. Killing innocent folks and US citizens whom had not their day in court. Doctor Strange Love riding a missile while wearing a White Hat.

AND

I remind you General Custer died for your sins.

In the mid seventies while assigned to A federally funded White Collar Crime Unit I read a report by a Texas Attorney General that basically said George W Bush was not smart enough to know that selling stocks in empty silos was a crime.

I have often thought George should be painting in a prison workshop guided by his cell mate,

Dick Cheney.

I think Chris Hedges covers this well.
