Have the Kindle version. Two more weeks of travel. I am staying away from anything US political, especially DD's trial. BTW take DD = Dumbass Don. Shall read when home.

Here in Florence seems every third person I hear speak is American. Same when in London last week. If the economy is as bad as DD followers say why can so many afford to travel? I cannot fathom for an instant how there is a virtual tie. WTF!!!

Quick scan of your book, the Lincoln Project should force feed it to maga-nuts. Then we might get to 65/35, a much more accurate reflection of the two candidates. 35 = the unreachables.

Good luck with the book.

I was going to guess Dipshit Don...

Thanks, Old Man.

I remain jealous of your stay in Florence. We just finished watching RIPLEY, and they go all over Italy, and it's just gorgeous, even in black & white...

I like your version of DD better. Italy is amazing, people have been wonderful, food outstanding. Hopefully you and yours will make it here. Really appreciate your work, helps me stay grounded. Looking forward to reading your book. Ciao da Firenze

I'm getting the paperback delivered today. I know most of this but look forward to your writing, always superb. I'll pass on to grandchildren.

I'm going to take one or two to my local library!

I figure, I don't need Greg's book to convince me not to vote for the grifter. But I also wanted to support Greg's effort on behalf of our country.

Thanks, Lynell. The book may help you hone your argument against the Trumpers. They are everywhere, thanks to Fox News...

Greg congratulations on your new book! I look forward to reading it. Love how you bring “long ties” to the mob and his lack of style in wearing long ties . Also title Rough Beast ties to his insurrection against the USA and his presidential SUV being called the Beast! I just want him gone from politics. All the best to you!

Thanks, Christine. I didn't pick the title because of the POTUS SUV, but it did occur to me after...a happy coincidence.

It's great that you've written this. More people need to know about a possible Trump dictatorship.

We had created this infographic to highlight the danger:

Wow, Greg, my addled brain forgot this was book launch day! Congrats!! AND you released the same day as the new Stephen King, so you are in very good company. I got both this morning and am just finishing up "Fatal Vision" by Joe McGinniss, so I know what my next two books are going to be.

The last few chapters of "Fatal Vision" describe what a narcissistic psychopath Jeffrey MacDonald was/is, and I was reminded again and again of Trump in the descriptions. Luckily for them, Trump is too lazy to kill his own family, but not too lazy to sit on his throne and murder the American ideal. Looking forward to your book, and King's, but yours first. Good luck on sales!

Thanks, Steve. The only place in which I will beat Mr. King!

I have been slowly making my way through an excellent (or so it's said) translation of ANNA KARENINA. I read it a long time ago so it's like reading something totally new. I hope to have it read by, oh, Election Day...

I started "Rough Beast" last night, and it's exactly what's necessary now. Reminders, reminders, reminders, and MORE reminders of what a horrific president looks like. I used to know all the stuff off the top of my head, but there's SO MUCH of it! That it started with that asshole trying to find the cheapest TVs he could for his properties is SO typical -- I wonder if they were even color TVs.

Good for you! I really hope you can help to sway the thinking of the distressingly large part of the population that is unaware of the danger. If I don’t get around to buying and reading this book, it’s because I’m not in that group you’re targeting, I’ve already read most of what you’ve written, and I’m with you 1000 percent! The only thing you said here that I didn’t already know is what Lara Trump has to do with Tom Petty.

Thanks, Earl.

Lara covered his song "Won't back Down," much to the consternation of Petty's estate, and eardrums everywhere.

I recall a few times that I said you would be a great historian and teacher. I look upon your books as history books and I'm glad you have applied your prodigious research and analysis skills and your elegant, clear writing talents to this project. You are performing a valuable service and I plan to purchase your book.
