It is interesting to be reminded of Woody Allen's press conference in 1992 at the Plaza hotel - then owned by Donald Trump.

This is a good article. However, I do take exception to including Bill Clinton as that was the one and only Consensual sexual relationship...chump, kavanaugh and certainly allen are all rapists.

Thank you, Greg. From the playbook of paedophile sociopaths. We can only hope they spend time as child molesters in some prison somewhere, for the rest of their miserable lives, preferably on fire much of the time. 😢

Legally he didn’t rape or commit incest with Mia Farrow’s 19 year old daughter. Morally and ethically he’s an exploiter and guilty of the worst invasion and manipulation of boundaries. That child considered him a parent and sought parental type of intimacy, guidance, and affection in their relationship like any daughter seeks with her dad. She was entitled to rely on a parental figure to maintain boundaries, respect her youth and naïveté and resist using his power and control to seduce her into adulthood. This is vulgar exploitation of a young Asian girl. Use the words. She is abused. He is an abuser. He can shove his clarinet up his ass.

By 1991 and the continuing themes of objectification and minimization of women in his movies, I saw him for what he is. Eschewed his movies. Ignored the awards and lost respect for the hangers- on.

Expect her tell all, memoir of an unintended geisha, once he passes. I’ll wear a red dress and stilettos and dance on his grave.

I see you, you pathetic sociopathic pedophile.

All it takes is money- and God knows he had plenty to spread around. My suspect of Woody now turns to hate. But karma will win out sooner or later

When you name names in succession, men & their surrogates who’ve used power & victimhood with powerful male judges & media figures who control the narrative- (Matt Lauer, Ailes, O’Reilly) it’s remarkable. I sit here in March of 2021 numb to the sea of men who’ve abused children, women & men. It feels like that moment when you find out someone you deeply love dies and in shock & disbelief you look out the window to life proceeding unaffected to the loss & trauma one is feeling at that moment. I look out my window now ... the Fedex driver is blaring Beat It as he delivers packages.

When I first heard about the case, years ago, and knew few details, I tended to side with Allen. Why? Because I wanted to enjoy his films with a clear (uninformed) conscience. Knowing what I know now, I’m not proud of this deliberate ignorance. It does make me understand better the continued support for TFG (the former guy) by some supposedly intelligent, well-meaning people. He gives them what they want and they turn a blind eye to, or disbelieve, the rest. BTW, I’ll never watch another Woody Allen film.

Allen is 85 years-old? That's good to know. At 63, I should have the time left to be able to witness his funeral.

I have spent my movie life not liking Woody Allen movies. I have always found the few films I have seen of his to be tedious, and always questioned why he had to appear in them. The ONLY film I own that he made is, "Bullets Over Broadway," because 1) he's NOT in it, and 2) Dianne Wiest's character sticking her hands over John Cusack's mouth saying, "Don't speak! Don't SPEAK!" is in my Top Ten of funny movie characters of all time.

Allen is a POS without a doubt, as is every other molester/rapist you've mentioned in this column, including and maybe especially, Bill Clinton, who should have NEVER gotten involved with a WH intern. How stupid do you have to be? I'm also, lately, casting a stink-eye at Andrew Cuomo, who, yes, let the investigation continue, but I think it's pretty obvious what went on there -- inappropriate behavior in ANY job, let alone the high profile job of governor of New York, is also in the "how stupid do you have to be?" category.

Rape, unwanted touching, child molestation should never be a political consideration, but it seems that the former guy brought THAT to the fore too. "Oh, Weinstein? How much did HILLARY take from him?" or "Meryl HAD to have known!" Kavanaugh made the accusation that his victimhood was a result of something about "revenge for the Clintons." Woody Allen and his bag of bullshit. It's all disgusting, and should NEVER be made to be about politics -- it's about decency for fellow humans, and when that line is crossed, we should all be disgusted.

Great job on this one, Greg, as always! Have a great weekend!

Great article, Greg, on this POS scumbag. As soon as the news came out about Allen, I totally banned him and his work from my life. And I'm sure a lot of other women who have been sexually abused (especially as a child) were triggered back to their own trauma. So there are all the rest of us to consider. There is recovery and healing from PTSD - but when the ABUSER drags everything and everyone through the mud like this motherfucking asshole did, it's damn hard to ever heal and recover. I hope he dies soon (Yes, I really do) and the planet and all the people whose lives he ravaged get a chance to finally take a clean breath. Rebecca Solnit has a great article in The Guardian about the role men continue to play in the oppression of women STILL. But the way Allen pulled this op on Mia Farrow and her whole family - despicable, unforgiveable, truly horrific.

Thank you for telling this whole story in what is finally the Right Light.

I will just leave this here. It's Peter Sellers in Kubrick's 1962 Lolita. He is blatantly doing a Woody Allen impersonation. It's super creepy. Sellers knew. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIb3cRvQYw8

Always found him a creepy little worm. Not being a 'filmista', could never understand why anyone wanted to watch him on-screen. Couldn't understand why Mia married him. Was instantly on her side when this shit hit the fan.

Very much enjoyed reading the situation broken down in this way !

I had totally missed the part about allegations regarding Satchel (Ronan). I don’t think that was covered in the HBO series. Woody is despicable, detritus, dead to me. Outstanding piece Greg.
