Beautiful. The ad for Biden featuring the Springsteen song "Philadelphia" brought the height of the AIDS pandemic back to me. Moments after seeing a matinee of the movie "Philadelphia" my late husband and I decided to have a second child, who is now a faith-rooted community organizer. Sometimes the worst of our culture brings out the best in our souls.
Thanks, Greg, as always. Every fucking day you bring us truth, reliability, faith, and yeah, love. Tough love, maybe the best kind. I found you through a FB friend on NYC. Our world shrinks.
once i get through Fall dissertation season i will watch the Angels in America. it somehow is fitting. i’m grateful for all the justice warriors that have emerged to help us understand the seeming madness. there is strength in the angels. we can be better than the likes of 45. so much better. thanks for the Sunday contributions.
You know, I've never seen The Big Liebowski. All the other Coen Brothers films, but not that one. Don't know why. Saw Blood Simple in the theater when it first came out. Same with Raising Arizona and my favorite CB film, Miller's Crossing. But no Big. So now I will watch it. Thanks for making me. And for this rumination on pandemics we have known and not loved, awful people who perpetrate and amplify them, and the future that we just know is right around the corner if we can only survive until we get there. You do us all a great service with your wit and wisdom. Thank you for it. 16 more days. I've voted already. I'm here for the long haul, though. And for years after, hoping for justice. Happy Sunday to you, Greg.

Oh, wow. Some things are clearly meant to be!

Thank you!
Wow. So beautifully written and right on time. Thank you.

It's worth watching. So is "Burn After Reading," also a comedy that pretends not to be.
The Big Lebowski is my favorite movie. So many great one liners. Set in "The City of Angels" by the way.
It's a toss-up between that and the underrated "Burn After Reading," which is just brilliant. Right! City of Angels!
I always look forward to your writing. Now I feel like having a movie night. ;) I haven't seen these movies in years. Have to revisit them all.
That was painful. Thank you.
