Dylan was cool in a number of ways...even my tenth grade English teacher thought so, taking up the lyrics to several of his songs for us to analyze.

But history does repeat itself, who knows, there may already be a young person loving Trump so much that s/he wants to emulate him just as he did by emulating Hitler, apparently Trumps idol.

It was said that Trump kept a copy of Mein Kampf in his bedside table drawer. I would not be surprised if the book was recommended by his first mentor, the truly evil Roy Cohn, consigliere of Joe McCarthy. The lessons in that book, on how to rally the masses, and to ruthlessly grab power, are extraordinary. We are very, very lucky that Trump's mental faculties were limited, and that his sociopathy crippled his rise.

I've read and find quite plausible (in The Guardian), the idea that Trump wants to set up a "virtual kingdom" with a "government in exile" online, which he could do from Moscow, or countries without extradition treaties Hahahaaaaha!

Scary narrative. Then we could use a drone in a foreign country.

Glad you got a break & even more glad you're back, Greg! 😀 Driving to work for the past few months, I've had to pass a huge sign that says, "TRUMP 2020 - FINISH THE JOB!" and as I routinely give it the finger, I think, "Finish the job of...ruining our country?" I'm relieved that we'll soon have a functioning government again with an intelligent & experienced POTUS who's actually DOING the job. But I can't stop being haunted by the cold fact that ~70+ MILLION of our fellow countrymen voted yet again for that feloniously-opportunistic, know-nothing, hubris-powered MENACE. I know it's a collection of loosely grouped, disparate yet intermingling factions: The highly-uninformed, the very wealthy & venal, the ultra-religUlous, the gun-nuts, and the tribally stupid. But over 70 million - - that's pretty chilling. On a hope & a prayer, time elapsed will cause awareness of the truth to eventually surface. 19 years ago, I was a minimally-informed American who fell for the "patriotism" of what I now describe as the "knee-jerk reaction wars" engineered for profit by Cheney, Wolfowitz, Bremer, & Rumsfeld and aided by Rice, Tenant, a duped Colin Powell (💔) and an easily-manipulated, inexperienced Dubya. 10 years ago, after reading the "Night of the Generals" article in Vanity Fair, I sheepishly admitted that I hadn't just dipped a toe into the ensuing zeitgeist but had splashed around a bit. So maybe too, for the current school of Cult45 guppies, an eventual cognizance awaits?

(Sorry for the long one & thank you for another feast for my mind!✊🏻🌊🇺🇸💙)

Death is final.

A one stop, non-reversible, permanent solution to a temporary problem.

Soon after his inauguration I had a vivid nightmare he was at a rally and pulled a little pistol out of his suit pocket and blew his head off. It is not unbelievable and would certainly, without question, forever change the narrative and his legacy.

Many of his supporters might follow suit.

What an outsized over-the-top gigantic amount of pain that would unleash on America.

And he would not care.

Deborah, I'm betting Fake45's way too much of a coward to actually do it. Why would he kill the only thing he truly cares about - - his own lily-livered dbag ass?

I see what you did here, and I approve. And I wish Paddy Chayefsky were still living. Not so much for "Network," but for "The Hospital." He could take the Trump story and run with it. As it is, whatever happens seems to be watchable only through the lens of a film camera for me. I can't interpret this reality any other way.
