Thank you for this history lesson, it is the template for authoritarians all over the world. Destroy, divide, rule. What wonderful opportunities for true leaders to help create prosperous, functioning, and productive societies. Instead toxic, evil egos are driven to rule by total destruction. Evil minorities choose this because it’s all about them, the people be damned. Never more true than in The USA Today
This was a fascinating, albeit tragic history lesson. It seems we never learn. And by "we" I mean US - the deliberate attempts right here in our country to turn neighbor against neighbor seem to be working.
Thank you, again, Greg. Much of this tragedy, I did not know. I suspect it's the personal loyalties of many to Assad that keep him in power, just like Putin or in Trump's case, a clown version of loyalty.
The interview was quite good but also depressing especially when Diana was talking about Assad's wife. We really didn't know her role in all of this. Always great to hear your voice, however. :)

Bashar al-Assad coming at me to examine my eyes is as terrifying as would be The Dentist, Paul Gosar, digging around in my mouth. Yikes!

The gods require war for their entertainment.
The pace to human extinction has quickened.
