Thanks, Greg for having Jennifer Mercieca on last week. I just finished her "Demagogue for President" book last night and WOW! I honestly didn't think I could learn anything more about Trump and his "style," but that book proved me wrong. He led the easily duped that support him around by the nose and he's STILL doing it. Ad Hominin attacks come naturally to him because he's never seen anyone he can't mock without ever dealing with what they're actually saying, but the rest of it? All the various ways he demagogued his way to the presidency -- did he actually KNOW what he was doing, or was it analyzed in 20/20 hindsight? I still think of him as dumb as a rock without meaning to offend rocks, so his KNOWING and planning his cynical campaign in 2015-16 is a bit scarier than I originally thought.
Feeling nostalgic, I've started watching the first (and what was supposed to be the only) season of "The Circus" on Max, as I'd never seen it and have a real fondness for that show. Everyone is SO innocent -- it's like watching a murder mystery play out when you already know the answer to who ends up killing democracy! Fascinating stuff to see now.
