I'll go one better, William, because this week, and this era has turned me, when I want to be, into kind of an asshole. This will make the most sense if you've watched "Breaking Bad." I wish for Trump the fate of Tio Salamanca (yes, I had to look up the name and now can't believe he was ONLY in 8 episodes!), in the wheelchair. Unable to walk, unable to talk, but yes, fully aware of everything. The only thing he used to get anyone's attention was a little bell, like one you'd see at a hotel desk, strapped to the end of one of the arms of the chair. And when he was mad, as I expect Trump would be most of the time, that little bell got A LOT of use, and people bowed and scraped to keep him happy because he was dangerous trouble.
I imagine that. And then I imagine Ivanka and Junior bowing and scraping to keep Daddy happy with Melania having left with Barron for greener pastures, figuratively, if not literally. I imagine these things and then realize what an inhuman asshole I can be. Sad. Or not.
If there's such a thing as the power of shared dreams, your dream is my dream. He came close to what you describe in your first sentence when he was unable to hold a glass with one hand and then staggered down that ramp looking as if he would fall on his face at any second.
There were reports in other media outlets about the drug use and the diaper wearing (because he cannot control his bowel movements as a result of snorting Adderol). In fact, William, Trump apparently has pissed and sh*t himself frequently at political rallies. Alas, no stroke yet. But we can live in hope . . .
Greg, it continues to amaze me that fear of BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and people with a naturalistic worldview leads to some of the most bizarre choices in the ignorant, the brainwashed, and the "penilly" challenged. But that has been the case, among white folk especially, for all of human history. And it was embedded as a weird kind of heroic anti-humanist stance in the infant USA by all those lovable bigots, racists, enslavers, and misogynists referred to as the Forefathers of Our Nation (enhanced by that execrable piece of sh** Andrew Jackson).
