Buyer's remorse is a great way to put it.

TENET is underrated for sure. Never would have watched it had Zarina not recommended it to me.

In Russia, life is cheap. ☠️

I volunteer usher for a large venue in SoFlo and sure appreciate the police, security guards and metal detectors protecting the public.

All politics aside, it's just sad. A nation with such a rich cultural history in the hands of a barbarian.

Russia was always in the hands of barbarians.

I wouldn't put it past Putin to inflict this kind of fear, terror and pain on his own people. We'll never know the truth.

Pretty much everyone agrees on the FSB bombing the Moscow apartments. Horrific.

Putin is Evil and must be stopped. The only way is for Russian people to rise up! GOP is evil and contributes to Putin’s agenda every day. We must vote them out and take a look at all the laws that Dfg/the courts abuse to try to stay in power. Evil forces around the world want US to fall! Thanks Greg for all your efforts to enlighten us. 🙏

Thanks, Christine. The good news is, there's a lot more of us than there are of them.

I agree that whether or not Putin had anything to do with the Crocus massacre, he’ll manage to take full advantage of it. What I can’t get off my mind as I read about the atrocities of the FSU and Russia is that what used to be one of the two major political parties in this country is basically on his payroll.

And proudly. Proudly on his payroll. Doing whatever they can to help him kill more Ukrainians.

Good work Greg. Russia punches above its weight because leaders have no conscience, and are fearful. I wonder if Putin, Hitler or Stalin will be the worst ever.

As the world shrinks and communication improves, people everywhere see which systems of government work best. Hope is always good but we must be strong, smart and brave to do our part. Billserle.com

Thanks, Bill. Fortunately, he has a ways to go to catch Hitler or Stalin. Let's hope he doesn't come close...

For what it's worth, I never bought the story of ISIS being responsible for the bombing. It simply makes no sense, and Judge Judy again, "if it doesn't make sense then it's not true." ISIS, or ISIS-K, or ISIS-XYZ can take all the credit they want because it's what they do -- sort of like Republicans taking credit for infrastructure in their districts that they voted against. The bombing though, has Putin's filthy hands all over it, and I would guess only for his need to distract from Ukraine, which makes the concert hall bombing yet another war crime. He may have ACTED like he didn't know what was going on for a day or two, but I put absolutely nothing past that POS, including killing more innocent civilians to try to gain a little international sympathy for Russia, who BADLY needs it. He's a fucking monster.

You're almost certainly right re: Putin, and lol at ISIS-XYZ. I said on a podcast interview over the weekend that it sounded like one of the offshoot highways of an interstate, like 495 around DC.

Greg, thank you for the history of P’s atrocities. And yes, he’s up-there-down in the inferno of histories’ most heinous. Of course little bone spur venerates him; would like to be his blue print & join him in the dark underworld

Today’s history lesson is similar to much of what I know of Russian corruption. Putins use of false flag tactics aren’t so different than the many used in this country, with ruthless brutality being the “shock and awe” terror factor to control the serfs!

Excellent piece Greg, with exceptional input from Zarina and MNS, thanks🙏

Who besides MAGAS would believe a word Putin says anyway? He’s as truthful as trumpinski. In fact, he probably gave trumpinski pointers during their private briefing sessions.

Unfortunately, the Russian people believe him. Even the smart ones. It's nuts.

I probably should have clarified with “over here”. My bad. It would really be sweet if Putin’s veneer would develop cracks enough to allow some light to shine through his propaganda. Unfortunately the dissidents have been cowed into silence and the others are afraid to move out of his shadow. It’s no wonder the national drink is straight vodka.

I don't either claim or reject that this attack was by ISIS. Russia has a lot of Islamophobia in its history. But I'm not at all sure about those four Tajiks. They were caught conveniently quickly and were headed, as far as one can tell, not for Ukraine but Belarus. Your report that they say they were PAID to do this, meanwhile, gives me pause. Generally terrorists don't hire mercenaries. What is the point of someone ELSE getting all those virgins in heaven?

It doesn't really matter whether Putin orchestrated this. What is important is how he can USE it-- as distraction from Ukraine atrocities, as increasing Islamophobia. It is always useful to an authoritarian leader if he can provide for "his people" someone Other to hate. As we are learning to our sorrow here.

MNS says that there are a lot of Tajiks in Moscow, doing odd jobs and such, and the population has been there a long time, and it would be very strange for one of them to do this, let alone four. The Khorasan group has plenty of reason to loath Russia, as you say.

It really is exhausting, all that hate.

It’s sus, & like a Russian nesting doll, full of layers. I agree this could be internecine; but at first glance seemed torn from the same playbook as the apartment bombings,or, someone paid someone else. One must adopt a Russian mindset & think like the ruthless criminal mastermind Putin (assassin of Dudayev, no doubt) who has no conscious, in order to comprehend.

And, fortunately, most of us are too empathic to really be able to do that! "Sus" it is indeed!

Greg, excellent background on issues I didn’t even know about Brezhnev and Putin, and everything else! I am curious, though, about the younger Russian generation standing up to Putin. What does Zarina say about them? Surely, they see Putin’s lies. I realize their efforts to fight back have been heavily curtailed by the Russian police but they know the truth. Seems the hardliners are fearful of him (rightfully so) and just b succumb to not questioning his motives. Nonetheless, he is one sick motherfucker who should experience the fate of Adolf Eichmann.
