Superb, Greg, "The odds are certainly on the former. But in a world in which the President of the United States is a mobbed-up, Kremlin-owned racist and serial sexual assailant who was best friends with the most notorious child sex trafficker in recent memory, and was last seen turning the South Lawn of the White House into a pop-up county fair, capitulating to Iran on a war he started, and pretending he’s fit as a fiddle…anything is possible."

Thanks, Sara!

Good one, Greg! and like the literary guy you are, you begin an end in a circular story. Nice.

Thanks! I was pleased with my shakes joke.

Interesting! The part infuriates me is knowing how many folks *HAVE* READ "the bad parts." They have knowledge of WHAT HAPPENED.

IMO, SOMEONE needs to break ranks and TALK... SOON!

DB — "But what I have learned in the course of our properly predicated and necessary investigations into these aforementioned matters, has shocked me down to my core. We cannot run a Republic like this. I’ll never be the same after learning what I’ve learned."

Someone will at some point, right? And it will be someone like DB.

It does seem like, if deMAGAfication[/America] stands any chance at all, the house of cards needs to be razed from within. Someone has got to sing. Danny B may be just the short-fused, loud-mouth canary we need. (JayDee would love to sing, too, but he wants to succeed his boss...that, plus the fact that he annoys absolutely everyone, and no one wants to hear from him on any subject.)

Greg Olear's avatar

I agree. Not sure DB is up to it. But stranger things have happened.

Awesome analysis Greg! Are you still on cloud nine?

Greg Olear's avatar

Thank you! And: yes!

Do you think they’ve ruined the country enough that we could all sincerely wear MAGA hats now because we’re now legit a pariah nation? What if we co-opt their primary symbol? Just change it to blue (or green). Anyway, you raise plausible questions about Bongino, Greg, even with mad hatter disease. It wouldn’t mitigate all his other brain-addled anti-social positions. But maybe somewhere buried within his weirdness he carries the spirit of a hero warrior. Thinking beyond Bongino, I’ve thought for a long time that there is a huge problem in this country with brain damage, not just football players - across the population.

Greg Olear's avatar

I don’t like their appropriation of the color red. Which is one of the reasons why I use it myself here.

Where else do you see brain damage?

Meryem Fuat's avatar

Three indicators I see: 1) inability to control hostility and rage, 2) brain fog, and 3) an inability to learn (bordering on aversion to learning). None of this is normal for a functioning human. All three are rampant in our country. IMO, of course.

I’ll breathe again when concentration camps are emptied and no longer being built and thousands of children are returned to their parents. we’ve been trained well…..to BECOME mother-fuckers, whining finger pointing victims and comfy assed reporters who finally left their safe padded seats, (talking to you Haberman, ) who failed the covid dead, the concentration camp dead, the immigrant dead, the deported dead, the hungry dead, the homeless dead, the medically deprived dead. The disrupted families with no income. ONLY when America learns not to worship money will any of this end. Are we done with that yet? The past Habermann and Bolton books are the only ones I personally walked to the trash. REPORTERS DID NOT EVEN PROTECT ONE ANOTHER. No inherent value system other than “The Sacred Job.”

Well how did that work out? Were jobs protected?

America needed Donald….to see the ugly, the perverse, the murderous, the stupid, and the greedy for ONE LAST CHANCE to save its soul, it’s children and it’s attempts at democracy to keep it’s land even inhabitable. Donald may very well have earned that Peace Prize but only if America gags on its consumption and worship of green feces and algae it mistook for good money designed to make all resources available to everyone in some way.

Bravo!

"Could it be that Dan Bongino, of all people, is going to be the one who brings it all down?"

In a time when strange is the new normal, anything is possible. Dan may be both a mad and white hatter. The mad hat say they love the USA, usually just words, perhaps for Dan he truly does love and want the best. The white hat, his support for the Republic overwhelms the truly insane parts of MAGA, therefore feeding Haberman and Swan what he cannot say out loud is the salve on his wounds, reconciling mad and white hats.

I don't know what side is up but will take the truth from whomever and which way it comes. If that is Dan B., good on him.

BTW, Maggie is not on my list of people I respect.

Greg Olear's avatar

I join you in your lack of respect for Maggie. But when she writes something, I don’t think she’s lying. I think she commits sins of omission. And she’s a company man, as they say.

It’s gonna wind up being somebody like him. It makes business sense for him to do it, if he can manage to stay out of prison and stay alive.

Old Man's avatar

Fully agree on Maggie. The "somebody" needs to step forward ASAP. As long as Blanche and DOJ refuse to take things seriously, the somebody is probably weighing how long is a piece of rope, you know the one with a noose at the end.

It’s pretty remarkable that a significant number of these sycophantic clowns were once competent and seemingly upstanding members of society. What mercury-like agent poisoned their minds? Not to start a conspiracy theory or anything, but there have been enough attempts at mind control, e.g., MKUltra, etc., that one almost has to wonder if there’s a substance given to groom people to be deranged enough to be in the inner circle.

Greg Olear's avatar

It really is something. One thing we know for sure is that they’re very, very good at psychological ops now.

This has been my conundrum for decades. Seemingly responsible people in responsible positions turned into propaganda specialists. Happened before chump although the TDS became epidemic. As I know first hand.. W was just the practice since the rank and file were not sufficiently “indoctrinated.” But Mitch and Fox took care of that during Obama’s terms. Enter the main attraction, which by this time, had attracted the attention of ideologues with big money. Previously sane people, joined with the cult snd the population underwent TDS. Just as Germany had HDS. Since I am afflicted with TDS and feel an outsider in my state, my mental state is suspect. These cretins, whatever their previous status, are traitors, 100%

Sorry, but that's going to stick with me for a while. Bongino has SEEN everything he wanted to, his reaction is above, he resigned, but he still can't talk about it. WOW! Yeah, that's going to eventually leave a mark.

I can't believe it's come to this, rooting for this guy to do the right thing...
