JFC😳 It’s TUESDAY

I don’t think Judge Chuckin will delay the trial one day longer than is necessary once she gets the go ahead to proceed. There is nothing preventing her from doing so as the only organization within the federal government who has any rules regarding this is the DOJ. The courts can do whatever the fuck they want, whenever they want. Elections be damned. I believe there is a better chance Donald is on trial during the election than not. He fucked himself with all his delays. Oops. 😬

I read a few days ago that he could still be tried because he's already been indicted. Of course, now I can't find the article where this is explained.

I read something the other day that I also can’t find. 😂

This seems to cover the arguments well, though.

Thanks, BBB!

Actually, this is more thorough than what I read previously.

Yes, you are correct that the DOJ's "60-day 'rule'" applies to fresh indictments rather than those already filed. Team Trump does, however, seem to have the inside track on the time line; my money is still on them when it comes to pre-election federal trial avoidance.

Actually, I think it is mostly limited to revealing details of investigations still in progress. But if we include "fresh indictments", that ship has clearly sailed.

He has enough money (or backers) to buy all the delay he wants or needs. Prove me wrong, American Justice…

Oh Donald will delay, delay, delay as much as possible. If SCOTUS hands down an ambiguous decision regarding immunity and essentially punts it back to Judge Chuckin to determine if the specific charges against him fall within those parameters, decisions which can again be appealed, yeah this could never end. But if they look at the scope of the current charges and rule accordingly, that could move things along. Judge Chuckin has already threatened Donald regarding her willingness to proceed as quickly as she can. And lest we forget, SCOTUS is also deciding a case this term regarding using the Sarbanes-Oxley law provision about obstructing acts of Congress being used to charge J6ers - and those charges have also been filed against “little Donnie fuckface”. If they decide it in a sweeping manner and rule that anything not related to S-O as non-chargeable under the statute, that could mean DOJ will not be able to charge Donald with 2 of the charges he’s currently facing in DC. But, with any luck though, they rule on the specific case before them. If my memory stands correctly (always in doubt 😎), SCOTUS is only hearing 1 of the 3 cases regarding this provision of the 3 that made it out of the appellate court. So, with any luck, it will be tailored to just that case. 🤞

Despite all these headwinds, , I am still somewhat hopeful that because of all his delay tactics, Donald will find himself on trial in DC instead of out on the campaign trail come October.

Thank you, Greg. What countermeasures are taken to stop (and punish) Putin's illegal attacks on Democracy? Perhaps Biden should make it a campaign point?

DFG is the king of torts. How many times has he sued or been sued in his lifetime? He was taught well by Roy Cohen. I will hold out hope that SCOTUS can see the writing on the wall, give drumpf immunity and kiss your bench seat goodbye. GOTV!

A needle in the eye to start my day. Could it get worse, there certainly are enough writers to spread word of the doom cycle we are in to ensure it does.

I guess columns such as this are an essential tool in the resistance. Yet MAGA-Ostriches will never read any of them, when their eyes surface it is not to read, such is well beyond them, only to eyeball Fox, et al. Such writings are not for them, they are lost souls who will remain lost.

If numbers I have seen are correct, MAGA-disciples make up 28% of voters. Throw in some undecideds, maybe we get to 33%. If enough of the rest are sane and truly love America, come November Biden 52%, 45 48%. By all standards a huge win. Sadly not big enough to avoid court challenges, rioting and some violence. Enough to garner 283 electoral college votes, possibly.

Come January 20, 2025, Biden places his hand on the Bible while Speaker Jeffries and majority leader Schumer smile approvingly.

Attending soon our monthly Democratic district meeting where we discuss not 46's age but working to ensure four more years.

This is my dream. Like all dreams they come through due to hard work and like minded folks who refuse to let doomsayers derail our dream. Yes we need to hear about the threats and tactics of the opposition, things like courts and the like over which we have no control. But in numbers much bigger than MAGA nation, we can overcome simply by pulling the right levers in the voting booth.

My sermon for the day, AMEN.

"...nearly 4 in 10 Republicans, have indicated they want to see a verdict in at least the insurrection trial before voting in November..."

And 10 in 10 Republicans are full of shit. If it takes a verdict in a criminal trial for someone to determine whether they should vote for Trump or not, -- a criminal trial which most of them believe is a "witch-hunt" or "election interference," by the way -- they are too stupid and out of touch with reality to vote.

I’m with you 100%. “If it takes a verdict in a criminal trial…”. Too stupid to vote. MAGAts should be disqualified as having “cult dementia” caused by voluntarily ingesting bull Schitt.

My wife had heart surgery a little over a year ago, and I was forced to think through what I’d do if I lost her. Every thinking person needs to consider the what-would-I-do scenario when faced with a potential crisis. Despite our impending mortality, I’ve settled back into a happy place, trusting that the Universe is, overall, a place in which it’s safe to enjoy life. In the case of King Donald, I’m too old to fight or even march in the streets. I’d grieve on behalf of my grandchildren, but, frankly, I’d probably be secretly happy that I wouldn’t be around very long. Now excuse me while I get back to being happy as I go on with my life!

Enjoy yourself, good SIR! And you deserve this honorific instead of a flabby, flaccid, faux ‘president’ whom insists on heaping this honorific upon himself! He’s merely a “moron extradinaire!!”

And of course, trump would happily use the Insurrection Act to quell completely peaceful protests. Nothing like federal troops or other law enforcement folks to turn some folks violent who otherwise wouldn't have been. It's already happened--Portland, 2020. Spray painting federal buildings is not high on anyone's list of violent crimes, though it may be illegal.

I'm glad I live in the bluest corner of a blue state (Seattle) because I don't have one. Just as my neighborhood wasn't burned down in the Floyd protests (or even got a whiff of smoke) I'm not overwhelming worried about a surge of MAGATS charging down the street.

But other parts of the country. Scarier than hell.

We are more likely to see federal funds dry up as a form of revenge.

I thought that by definition, a dictator had total power over elections, thereby guaranteeing that he would stay in power. That “day one” crap is just his way of telling us what he would do, ad infinitum.

I just ran across this on Meidas Touch Network. If true, I hope this will give the Ukrainian army enough breathing room until we can get them some serious money.

I've though that for so long. That sums it up. So the most pressing terrors are the polls that show Trump leading -- and the rest of us who don't know what to do about it or are too busy or disbelieving to do whatever, if anything, could be done to change opinion. Almost too horrific to believe. But not.
