In all the 30 years of working at a grocery store I never thought I would be scared to go to my job .....but in 2020 that happened & it was terrifying. In fact had to sign an OSHA waiver to wear a mask because NOBODY HAD CONSIDERED IT YET 🙃. Thanks trump.
How tRump and his minions continue to evade justice is beyond me. I'm sick and tired of another justice official or gand jury announcing 'possibly', 'may' or 'might' indict.
Pence trying his damndest to evade a subpoena, he was originally tasked with the Covid response team, which was quickly dismissed, by an overly eager, opportunity for Kushner, to profit. Where have all those with pitchforks, torches, cudgels and ropes disappeared? A long slow death from an unknown pathogen couldn’t be more justified!
Putin for years has gotten exactly what he wanted. More and more he has poisoned our democracy, bribed the GOP, emplaced his stooges at all levels of government, murdered one MILLION AMERICANS VIA TRUMP-COVIDE, and we do what?

Mostly twiddle our thumbs and wait for the cavalry, like in old westerns, deus ex machina
When I think about this, I remember that we will also go nothing serious to undo the climate catastrophe. Too many people will have reduced profits, which, apparently, are more important than a place to live for their children and grandchildren.
To stop the catastrophe, we must REMOVE the CO2 from the atmosphere, just blocking sunlight will NOT de-acidify the oceans.
It's already too late. Billions are going to die.
We have already screwed the planet in 10,000 different ways.
Even if we fix 1,000 of the bad problems, it's still too late.
Trump also brokered the deal to hand hand over control of the global oil price, with American Oil complicity. This was done at a time when Americans were struggling with the pandemic and recession. The decision was touted as saving the American Oil Industry as if it were going out of business, without regard for either Americans, our Allies, or our future. Trump's vision always ends at the tip of his nose. In this case he was looking for personal monetary rewards and boosting his reelection chances:
My husband and I came down with the "flu" In February 2020. We knew it had to be the flu since COVID-19 was still overseas, they said. It was the worst flu I had ever experienced, lasting about six weeks, maybe longer. I heard others in my neighborhood had complained similarly about the flu they had contracted during this same time period.
Thank you, Greg; and happy Friday! I look forward to listening to your interview with Ms. Eban.
I keep thinking lately how surreal it has been these last 6 years. This shit can't really be happening, but it is. Just when you think things might get a little bit more sane, we are blessed with "The Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government" and other chaos inducing nonsense. Hopefully we'll be able to look back someday and realize how nuts this has been. 😫
The entire last six+ years has felt like a slow motion, real life The Stand. It's been nothing less than Good vs Evil and we're still in the eye of this shit-storm. I'm curious about the long-term physiological effects of such sustained civic horror. The post mortem will be so interesting, so revealing, so sad.
There's no end to Trump's culpability during and after his administration. Most of the major challenges we face today are the result of his four years in office, and his continuing efforts to undermine our democracy. On the Covid-19 front however, he also did something that is generally ignored but also had devastating consequences. This event occurred between his efforts to almost start an accidental nuclear war with North Korea and his disastrously ill-conceived trade war with China, which the U.S. lost, along with losing any hope of any resolution of the nuclear issue with North Korea, which would require Chinese assistance:
In terms of needless loss of life, this policy decision ranks up there with his first Covid-19 blunder of ignoring the warnings of the probability of a pandemic and preparing accordingly as he was advised to do, by multiple experts:
In third or fourth place, is his failure to deal with the written warnings of his own cabinet member about the catastrophic seriousness of the pandemic that was already here in January of 2020 (before his multi-trillion dollar debt-financed economy was already puttering):
Let us not forget that Trump told Bob Woodward that he knew SARS-CoV-2 was airborne, while at the time denigrating masks and saying the cases would soon be down to zero. He might yet escape conviction in a court of law, but in the court of what’s morally right, he has been found guilty hundreds of thousands of time over.
I remember when he tried to withdraw from WHO. I was already at a point where I thought I could no longer be surprised at the stupidity of his actions. But I could not believe how blatantly appalling that decision was at that time . And every time he did something like this I thought, "This will be the thing to wake everyone up about who he really is!" Nope.

As always, can't wait to listen to podcast today.
Saw a license plate last month that read Covfefe.
Among the bad, there are still a lot of good people out there.
