I can't get past accountability. I tried to make a list of the most egregious and it came out so long! But I want a list to harass my officials about. What am I missing?
My mom, who was born at the end of the Hoover administration, looked at me the other night during another news story about someone, somewhere in Trumplandia, and said, "is there ANYONE in the government that's honest anymore?" Maybe some career people, but every single person in the Trump administration is, oh, what's the turn of phrase I want? Oh yes, a piece of shit. Mom has begun sentences with, "I never thought I'd live to see the day when..." so many times, I've lost count.
The 74 million that voted to re-elect him still stuns me over two months later. The terrorist attack on the Capitol needs to be answered, and needs to be answered HARD. Trump and all of his basket of deplorables must be found, charged, tried, and sentenced. Washington D.C. is on complete lockdown with armed National Guard, seven-foot fencing, barricades, street closures, and probably many, many more security measures being taken that we don't see. And why? Trump! Trump and his gang of terrorists who tried to take down the government. I never thought I'd live to see the day, indeed. Good luck to all of us!
These last four years have felt like a lifetime! Thank you for the reminders, there have been so many lies and dirty deeds that it's hard to recall them all. Not that they have been swept under the rug, but just left out in the open to create a pile of crises. I don't know how long it's going to take to recover but that this point I feel New, Fresh, and Healing is already starting. I believe we will change the problems that have come to light with this exiting administration, things that have gone unnoticed in the past. And has the brilliance takes over the mediocre, we will all heal a little more every moment. I'm going to pull out a bottle of Champagne and Celebrate.
