So much of what happened in the early nineties has shaped what is happening now in Eastern Europe. Their struggle with Democracy, was very hard for most people, to figure out how to live when you’ve never lived freely, when everyone knew their place, divided by who you were in relation to the leaders. It’s fascinating to hear one person’s experience having grown up in Britain, knowing that freedom then returning for however long, to what could be described as living in a previous century.
