It is disgusting, disappointing, & depressing to reflect on DJT & his tenure as President. He should be held accountable for his crimes, but I fear that he will get away with them as he has his entire life. No wonder people have lost faith in our government. We need to cleanse our system of greedy people who want only power & money, and do not seek to help all our people to thrive. We need to vote them out. Then we need to truly educate our youth so they can understand our past & elect those who will strive to better our country. Right now I fear we are headed in the wrong direction.

Great sentence: "The former President of the United States, one of the most powerful men in the world, stuffed strips of torn paper into that puckered sewer-hole of a mouth, chewed them up, and swallowed." Reminds me of a girlfriend from my youth who described giving her first BJ. "Ew," I said, "What did you do with it?" She answered, "I spit it in an ashtray."

But hey, at least we was getting some fiber in his diet.

I keep thinking nothing can shock me anymore — but seeing it ALL laid bare like this (well, the stuff not flushed down the commode) is pretty jarring.

Also, I'm SO happy to [FINALLY] be a paid subscriber, supporting your work, Greg! You're a national treasure. AND, this is a great bridge while I'm still observing a lovely, replenishing social-media-sabbatical this month. Your. Writing. Is. Fantastic. Keep it up!

I originally translated DFG as Dumb Fucking Guy. I’m sticking with it.

No doubt the DFG will have goons standing by to grab the video of his next colonoscopy and the doc will have surrendered his reading glasses.

Once DFG dies, and after a proper period of mourning -- say, two minutes or so -- I really think that all of Greg's Trump Era essays should be memorialized in a nice coffee table book. I'm much more of a Kindle guy now, but I'd buy that for sure!

Does Trump take ketchup with all that paper? His fast food habits indicate an unhealthy love of fats and sugar, therefore he would have needed something to help swallow all those documents…

The fact that he scrapped the notes and documents automatically indicates that he was plotting on paper perhaps while talking to his foreign boss(es) on the phone-doodles like that bring down chaos and anarchy, something we know Trump loves. Thank goodness he’s out of the WH, before he and his henchmen do something we can’t come back from, like using the nuclear option to wipe out his enemies…

Please DEMOCRATS vote in the midterms we need more senate seats!

Thank you so much, Greg. 🙏🙏

It’s so important that we see the totality, the entire nasty garbage sack.

I will only add that Greg also pointed out somewhere that Lindsey Graham went from Trump critic to sycophant and downright enthusiastic butt kisser after talking to him on the golf course. This unrepentant dirt bag, I very very strongly suspect, used his golf games to get privacy for his extortion and bribery talks with various people. It would explain why he spent so much time on his golf courses. His favorite place to deliver a criminal message was probably on the golf course because nobody was listening in and there were no records made. No documents = no evidence. No audio recordings (à la Zelensky and Raffensberger) = no evidence.

Trump could lose his business because of the Letitia James probe, the investigation by the NY AG’s office.

I just reread this one , out loud, to my husband, while he’s making dinner. Greg I love all your writing but this one especially reminds me of your famous impassioned rants on Narativ (and I tried to bring that energy in my dramatic reading here in the kitchen). Also - absolute best use of a footnote ever.

Humans have changed very little from a time when Rulers married the mothers and their sisters. And screwed their daughters. Thank god we wouldn't think of such things today!
