Very elucidating. My tendence has always been flight, but with the pandemic, bad knees and a heart condition, I can no longer "fly away" - which explains a LOT.
My 15-year-old painted it, and I have it on the wall in my office. He does these really horror movie-style things. It seemed to represent multiple trauma pretty well. Plus, it's a cool painting.
This is exactly right. I'm 7 years sober now. ( Yay ) But I had underestimated the effect of compounded trauma. I'm in therapy again after years of not....and sought a bit of some medical intervention as well. I have WAY too much head knowledge about this stuff....and yet ? Was still reluctant to admit the psychological and physiological effects the last few years have brought about in my mind and body. Thank you both so very much 🙏 It is important and affirming and necessary to find and explore assaults on mind , body and spirit. There are many great tools out there ....and this in particular...is huge. Thank you. Love, StacyO
WOW, nailed it again. Never in my long life did your words ring truer.
Thanks. It's all Claudia.
And yet another WOW! Yes, what Jeri said. You nailed it Greg. Wow. We have so much work to un-do.
We do, alas.

These are trying times. They are. And it's important to recognize and acknowledge that.

Is his name Edvard by any chance?
Yes! I might title it, "The Screams." Very fitting.
That podcast was illuminating, Greg, thanks from the bottom of my heart!
Thanks!
Identify with all of this and what's doubly traumatizing is the fear that the US will return for more. Unimaginable....
I was doing well managing my depression after cancer — before Trump. Trump-induced trauma has caused me to have to get back on depression meds.
We're suffering from transgenerational trauma, from the last few thousand years (or longer).
