You outlined the deaths of over 210k people very well. I knew a few that died. No words written on any paper can fully describe the horror, pain, and cruelty to them & those they loved but you know that. We all know that.
I guess none of these Trump enablers or supporters haven’t had covid touch their lives in a serious way. So unless it happens to someone they love it isn’t real. They shouldn’t worry though.... Trump & his enablers like my Gov (DeSantis)is doing all they can so everyone in this country will go through the pain of losing someone to Covid. I only hope they too get to experience it.

Welp, maybe our greatest days were far behind us, and political corruption, which had insidiously turned us into a quasi-feudal state, had caught up with us. Our evolving monstrous (and pointedly lopsided) tax code, Citizens United, the Electoral College, our unbelievably made-for-graft lobbying system, the corporate welfare structure that underpins every industry, the religulous right's 30-year campaign to instill THEIR religious beliefs into OUR civic code - - it's all brought us to the shocking place that is our today and tomorrow's cautionary tale.
