Thanks for featuring Tiff! She's one of my favorite follows on Twitter.

Regarding "messaging", I contend the mainstream media (they don't even deserve initial caps IMHO) are largely to blame for Americans not understanding benefits of a competent, progressive Democratic administration because they love fascists and the people who love them.

OK. On to the podcast!

I concur. And what an important and timely subject that’s been on my mind.

Really enjoyed the podcast!

One more thing about Kamala Harris and what she's been doing. I haven't seen this discussed much (if at all) in the media snips I see on Twitter and it may be discussed on forums I don't see. But she has spent a lot of time and energy enlisting and preparing a new young generation of Black leaders in the Democratic Party. We don't "see" or "hear" about it (wonder why hmmmm and I'm being snarky) but when we see even more young Black Democrats winning elections and running the party successfully we will see the fruit of her efforts. She always playing the long game.

Most of our country is in a trance-like state induced by years of right wing lies, repeated over and over again. The "messaging" needs to be more like "spell breaking". We could really use the mainstream media to help snap people out of this, but they are apparently under the spell too. Billions of dollars bought a lot of evil "sorcery".

I have a lot of faith in Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. I also have faith that America will eventually wake up from the nightmare we’re still struggling with and right itself. Politics feels to me like just another social phenomenon that goes and comes in waves. Polyester leisure suits and no-fat foods don’t last forever. Neither, I trust, does the trend in Congress and the Supreme Court to keep spouting “freedom”while taking away as many freedoms as they can. I predict a Blue wave next year and an eventual President Harris. I have a colleague who is fond of saying that this country will be on the right track when we have a gay Black female atheist president. I’ll gladly take the two out of four that Kamala embodies!

Priceless, your words:

There are plenty of villains on the political right, lord knows: Trump, the lifelong criminal and violator of the Espionage Act, who wants to bang his daughter; the flagrantly corrupt Supreme Court Justices Sam Alito and Clarence Thomas, who took rights away from women in between fishing trips with rightwing billionaires; Ron DeSantis, the Florida Bolsanaro; (alleged) rapist Rudy Giuliani, whose fingerprints are all over January 6; and my personal bugbear, the dastardly Leonard Leo.

Yes, Tiff, WHO would be better? The Dems are not exactly teeming with out-front talent right now. I'm sure they're there, but EVERYONE seems to be involved with trying to sustain democracy, so the usual talents we may see have been suspended in favor of fighting the authoritarian right.

“I think the way that we combat this is say, ‘Good!’” -- damned right! I have been a huge champion of Kamala Harris since she came on the scene, even before she became VP. I voted for her in the 2020 primary and looked forward to her presidency. Alas, a little too soon for that. I now satisfy myself with watching her be a successful VP and taunting right-wingers who continue to trash her without reason with how she will be president in 2028 and 2032. Exploding heads all around! They hate her for all sorts of lame excuses, none of which are true, and based on misogyny, racism, or a combination of the two. Watching her slice and dice Bill Barr, Brett "Beer-Barrel" Kavanaugh, and Mike Pence put me firmly in her camp. She will always have my vote!

‘A vote for Biden is a vote for VP.’

So what’s the counter?

Misogynists love to target her, but when they do, she can shine and give it back. Somebody sure as hell needs too. Dark Brandon needs to be more active also. Even be the aggressor, don’t be the responder to bull Schitt. Dems have some excellent attack dogs, turn them loose - with a megaphone

Joe Biden has five portraits directly across from his Resolute desk in the Oval Office.

The largest and central portrait is of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who for most of his presidency knew he was dying and rose to greatness anyway.

Joe humbly sees the greatness he can bring to America, through his swansong, his last great work on earth.

Godspeed, beautiful Joe.❤️

Regardless of ones opinion of Joe and Kamala the times call for them to occupy the White house for at least 8 years.

There really are no other options on the horizon. Particularly the current folks claiming to be Republicans. Many of which are obviously mentally ill.
