Thank you, Greg. For sure, we know that any honour in the GOP died long, long ago, and their naked quest for absolute power drives every lie and crime they perpetrate. They hate democracy and live only to oppress those less fortunate than themselves. They are monsters.

precious indeed. thanks Greg & LB for the illumination on Beer Boy Brett and his gang of incredibly dirty friends. think of the strands of silk that move from one web of corruption and dirty dealing to another. they are linked up back to Nixon. Gerald Ford started this mess. Low Barr made it worse with the Iran-Contra pardons, and put the cherry on the top while he licked Don's sack. I hope, in what is left of my old-lady lifetime, that this skank gets out and gets out quickly. Why can't the unredacted Mueller report be released? Why can't the five senate volumes be unredacted? Why is the MSM so pussified? Nobody digs around questions. Everyone seems fine with some superficial answer? The press corps never learned how to work as a pack during the Donster years? the utter phuckery in all this astounds. you could not make this up. if you wrote this as a screenplay, you'd never make it past the first assistant reader . . . excited for the next installment. thanks again.

Alas, The Media is unwilling to focus on these things. It's far easier to focus on the sensationalism of the dirty trick 'reveals' ("If it bleeds, it leads"). It's almost impossible to educate a significant portion of the electorate when the media talking heads keep focusing on the rabbit instead of the ball.

I love this - I love that you connect the dots on so many things - When I watched Dr Ford give her testimony I believed her, every word - I looked at my wife and said that woman is telling the truth. Then I watched him - I didn't believe him not at all, but it seemed like a cover up. Just like C. Thomas when he talked it was nothing but lies - how could they not see this??

What pisses me off on all of this stuff is WHAT CAN WE REALLY DO - TO RIGHT THIS?

I noticed thru 45's reign - (thank baby Jesus that it was only one term) that whatever he said that wasn't it really was - on and on - the latest was the rigged election bullshit if you go back and see all the lies that he said from 2016 Russian interference on it's all been true. He'd say fake news and it was not, all bullshit, all rhetoric and all points back to this article and the ugly underbelly of the GOP. How can we stop it, how can we right the rudder? I have lots of republican friends and back in the day all we cared about was that one would vote, you vote for whom you want and I vote for whom I want - and as long as we did our civic duty we were good. Agree to disagree thing. But know we are angry that they would actually trade our democracy for an autocracy - how dare they.. this is fighting words for us. we really do not want to be friends with them any longer and it's hard to get why they don't see what we see, like all about money and that is it or as one friends said "well I do have to vote for conservative justices". WTF look behind this and all that we know, largely because of you, how can they not see. I guess the fake new bullshit has teeth so much more than we can ever imagine. My sister the republican that she is said I hate 45 (I dare not say his name ever) totally turn the tv when I see him, I hate him, can't stand to hear him speak - then she says to me "but I have to vote republican" WHAT DO YOU DO WITH THIS BULLSHIT? Keep them coming Greg get them all thanks for the illumination once again

I suppose that because this episode centres around a few rather than a great number of foul people I was able to finish reading it.

Oh, that justifiably fearful woman .. To my mind, the comparison of her face with that of the beer-loving *bastard* said everything, at the time. I knew virtually nothing at all about what was going down, but one had only to make that comparison to be convinced where the truth lay.

One of your points that leaped out at me was:

"Rather than politicians surfacing dirt to use on their opponents, the content is now surfaced—if not created out of whole cloth—to serve itself, and the politicians are beholden to the themes that the content is driving."

If I didn't know better, I would swear Mark Judge has never spoken to an actual woman. His ignorance is astounding. Greg, please make sure Glenn Kirschner sees this piece - he wants to get rid of Kavanaugh based on him lying at his hearing.

Great piece. Thank you Greg and LB. These efforts would not be as effective if the Mainstream Media weren't so willing to gleefully signal boost and mainstream the lies and slander against Democrats. But then I'm one of the great unwashed "liberal" proletariat who according to Maureen Dowd and Maggie Haberman doesn't understand what "real journalism" is.

Finally, I got to finish this, after many interruptions today, including vaccine #2. It’s brilliant and it just makes me more angry. I couldn’t believe what I was witnessing during that ‘confirmation’... enablers are everywhere. His own wife seems afraid of him. His question to Klobuchar and his apology. The man is still out of control. At the very least, he lacks judicial temperament. Thank you, Greg.

Thank you Greg and LB. So relieved I found you both. Thank you for shining a flashlight on the darkness.

"For conservative trolls, content is king. It’s a food source, derived from dirty ops, that exists to feed an audience. And because of the grip it has on that audience, the content has raw power. Rather than politicians surfacing dirt to use on their opponents, the content is now surfaced—if not created out of whole cloth—to serve itself, and the politicians are beholden to the themes that the content is driving."

I love the idea of the myth creation at the same time as I hate the content of the myth. Between this concept and the gold trump statue at CPAC, I feel as if I'm not so much swamped by Jungian myth as I am by those cheesy old explorer movie archetypes in which the hero discovers a lost civilization that has: bad guy as king, golden idols, ritual sacrifice of maidens (hero's white girlfriend of course trips and gets captured by natives), lots of ignorant natives salaaming to king...

Okay, I'm now up to speed after reading the articles in this series. The good news? If someone asked me before why they call Roger Stone a "dirty trickster" I couldn't have explained it. So, your detail and the timeline and the scumbags you write about arm me with the ability to explain MTG, Ron J, Jim J and others diversions and manipulations. The bad news? People don't read, we are all isolated and Holy Sh*t between you and Dave Troy's lengthy reporting on CNP my head is going to explode. I don't see how we turn this around. I know what I am saying and thinking is negative. I'm actually a "prisoner of hope". But, between the Supreme Court, dark money operations, 4 decades of a buildup to international gangsterism for people like Barr and the crazies in the Catholic Church...let's put it this way, HOMELAND was my all time favorite series. The storylines were brilliant and whoever wrote them seemed to foreshadow current events. But, with you reporting on this slice of malignancy throughout the RQP and Dave Troy's reveal, we're f'ckd. Aren't we?

Are there any examples of Democrats using dirty ops against Republicans? Do Democrats have any “dirty tricksters”? Not that I want them to exist, but I’m just curious if it’s just a phenomenon on the right. The fact that the media amplifies these dirty ops is the main problem IMO.

This piece really exposes the dark underbelly of the far right and the use of these Ops to distract, exploit and ultimately, influence. Fabulously done Greg and LB - thank you for SO clearly connecting these dots for us. It’s outrageous, all of it, on every level.

And as you said on Zev’s show tonight Greg, we really need more SC Justices!!!!
