I wrote a piece about this a while back, busting on Matt and Ben for hawking crypto and online betting, both dangerous things that fleece normies and line the pockets of bad actors. It's gross.

The piece you did on crypto was an excellent education for me. I often think about it whenever I hear anyone discussing crypto. HBO had a short series called "The Anarchists" (who were very into crypto). Very cult-like and sad. Any "get rich quick" scheme usually ends in tragedy for those who buy into it.

The good thing is, the people defending Putin now are obvious traitors. Tucker, Elon, etc.

The devil *is* a liar, alright. Tough to stomach but thanks for the presentation

What's that line about the devil citing Scripture for his purpose?

I know that one but had Jay-Z in mind when I commented. As in Rick Ross' 'The devil is a lie' 🎶

Every generation has a satan. Sometimes two, but it takes a Stalin to make a Hitler. It takes a Putin to make a Trump. Conversely, every generation has a Zelenskyy.

Hi Theseus! The celebrities get all the credit, so here’s my 2 cents added:

Every generation has a society of people, like the people of Iran, who rise up and overthrow the satans. May the people of the Russian Federation also find their voice, and their fury, to remove the millstone of the oligarchic Kremlin.

We are looking at the death of institutions. We are looking at people whose doom has been sealed.

Putin is being deposed. Ukraine is regaining its pre-2014 borders. Trump is going to jail. The Islamic Republic is being replaced.

Lots of noise and shouting, plenty of Sturm und Drang, and all of it is sound and fury, signifying nothing. We are seeing live-action drama of doomed institutions as they die. Their death is certain, and all that remains is for us to witness the weeping and gnashing of teeth as the outcome nears.

I have stopped reading articles about Trump. He’s a goner. I have stopped reading articles about Putin, including any story on the sham referenda. It’s all lies, as Greg says. And he’s a goner as well. The new story is the early stages of the certain overthrow of Iran’s repressive “Islamic Republic.”

Somewhere in our future we will also see the disintegration of the Chinese Federation of nations, and the disintegration and reformation of the system of capitalism containing “owners” that usurp workers. Billionaire “Owners” of companies is an outdated concept that will be abolished.

So, next on the list after the Russian Federation’s break-up and the Iranian Social Revolution + whatever catches fire in other Middle Eastern nations:

The Chinese Social Revolution and disintegration of its Communist Party, and the Transformation of Capitalism.

Stay tuned. 🍿🍿🍿🍿

Best piece I’ve seen on Iranian Revolution:

Notice how this article says that Mahsa Amini was killed for wearing her pants too tight. I haven’t seen that anywhere else.

“The legitimacy of the Islamic Republic is at is lowest point since February 1979: this is an unprecedented moment.”

Your perspective is not out-of-line with certain cycles of timing, which suggest that governmental and corporate institutions are scheduled for a potential breakdown and transformation over the next few years. In order to preserve our sanity, it is good to remember the aphorism, "What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls the butterfly."

This hits hard. I'm aware of all the things Putin has done and tries to do, but reading the actual words that he has spoken takes it to a new level of pain, terror and disgrace for Humanity. And every person that has been perpetuating his words and ideas (looking at you Ron Johnson, Tucker Carlson, Rand Paul etc...) has turned their back on the USA even as they scream that they are Patriots. Disgusting.

It's infuriating. And he looked so crazy saying it. Zarina said it was like listening to a well-heeled mental patient.

Expand full comment

And then there’s his henchman (tfg), another mental patient who looks as sociopathic as he is.

How we as a community view these people is so crucial. Trump and Putin and their ilk remain in power while our society allows it. They are successful as long as they are adulated. When the greater community starts seeing them as the sociopaths they are, that’s when Napoleon and Nixon, Trump and Putin, et al, ad nauseum, go down the drain.

Why do you think British royalty goes to such great trouble to hide flaws and to look good? Looking good is critical to survival of the institution, because the minute that public sentiment turns against them, they’re gone.

Wow, what a history lesson. Two thoughts (well more, but my brain can’t handle such an onslaught): the West’s most infamous oligarch, Rupert Murdoch, is not mentioned. I know he likes to be the power behind every throne, but he needs the spotlight shined on his ugly arse at every opportunity. Is he not a major “Goebbels imitator” with his paw prints on every evil deed in the West for 60-70 years, likely longer. The Mark Burnett reference rang true with me as he is likely one who knows where the Trump bodies are buried, besides Ivana, that is. Lastly, I seem to vaguely remember, a 60 Minutes show from the 90’s about Russia asking for help from the US for securing their nukes. Later I read that Tom Delay and some turds in Congress (there were plenty back then) refused and were vocal in their haughty contempt for the spot Russia was in. Did I dream all that, maybe, but chump was not the only viper in the republican parade of evil.

Expand full comment

Ugh...Tom DeLay! Yeah, the R's didn't seem as Pro-Russia back then, just hellbent on destruction in general.

Wasn't he on DWTS?

Expand full comment

Have never seen that show. Why on Earth would they have him on? (rhetorical question!)

Expand full comment

Murdoch is in his 90s. One of these days he'll go to the great beyond. His son is the problem now: younger, in charge, and just as evil (although it was all handed to him, unlike with Rupert who at least had to work to achieve what he did).

'Twas a delight to receive your latest -- and always brilliantly crafted -- missive. I can't help but note that its focus was spot-on in sync with this week's zeitgeist, as reflected in the planetary patterns studied by mundane astrologers. They alerted us to be on the lookout for those offering a sobering reality check on others who are likely spinning tall tales and twisted reinventions of the past...and here you are doing just that by calling out Putin's delusional speech, as in "He then spun a ridiculous revisionist history..." Thanks for another great read.
