Great points, and I agree about the abortion issue. Since abortion is a trigger word, I like to try to frame this as the government trying to butt into peoples' private lives. And if they start in about the "rights of the unborn," I suggest expanding this to talk about the shameful lack of support for "Born" children and their parents. I recommend using today's Substack piece by Jess Piper as a starting point - powerful stuff. https://jesspiper.substack.com/p/back-to-work-14-days-postpartum

I LIKE Kamala Harris and am already planning to vote for her in 2028! She impressed me when she was in the Senate and is an excellent vice president. Right-wing trolls love to go after what they're afraid of; that's become VERY obvious over the last several years.

And although I am not happy with Biden's policies re: Israel, and the continued military support no matter what Netanyahu does, I will still vote for him in November because the alternative is an insufferably bad decision. After the election and Biden's win, THEN we can go after him, and HARD, for Israel, but for me, there is NOTHING Biden could do or say that would cause me to change my vote or stay home. Abortion, democracy -- yes, they ARE part of the same thing -- are on the line. I am NOT living out my life in a dictatorship, ESPECIALLY with that orange traffic cone as the dictator. There is NO choice in November. It's Biden. Period.

People who are dissing Biden for not dissing Netanyahu are just supporting Netanyahu- and chump. Are their brains still operating?

@ Steve B, I’m not happy either out on going supplying of armament to Netnet. However, I’ve looked up the mutual agreement we made w Israel in 2019 lasting until 2028. So President Biden cannot simply stop sending Netnet military equipment. I ask: why doesn’t the media inform us of this essential agreement? Look what administration it was created under!

If our dark Brandon even tried to reverse this guess what? Personally I wish he had that option. If we all knew the history going back to 1952 w Truman…and before that, before 1948.

In the community I live in now in MA, there was and still is a strong support w ambassadors, international speakers and activists about the Palestinian plight, and a search for peace and justice. Peace and justice.

Hamas & Netnet? With those two in the frame, I’m deeply skeptical.

Too often like is confused with respect, the latter the more important. When Streisand comes on my car radio, I immediately switch stations. Her voice is jarring to me, don't like. Should she appear on a talk show, I listen attentively, I have huge respect for her point of view. When I vote I do so for whom I respect, not like. If I respect and like the person, all the better.

Everything else, Democracy versus Autocracy, good versus evil and so on are second to respect. If you respect someone chances are good right things will emerge.

When discussing 45 with a MAGA believer, one simple question. Ok you believe in his way forward, however do you respect the man, can you firmly believe he is good to his word? Do you respect him?

Generally the discussion moves from 45 to 46, a much easier defense for me than the other person justifying 45's batshit agenda. NC Senate race 2022 Tillis v Cal Cunningham, big fan of Cal until word of his odious behavior spread. Lost all respect for him. Tillis, never liked him but did respect him. Loss of respect for Cal, continued respect for Thom, vote Thom. Guess what? He has proven to be a sane Senator, seeking bipartisan solutions. Respect wins the day.

Abortion restrictions are important, no doubt. Chump will beat the immigration drum like it’s the only sound in town. And he will do it where it counts for the electoral college. The fact that the protests are targeting Joe is a critical factor that will suck votes away from him, whether or not they go to chump. Abortion is not the only game in town. Wish it were.

Personal freedom for women. (And men) voting rights. Book bans. And now Tik fucking Tok!

I’m not a happy citizen right now. I love TikTok. I treasure the idea that my vote matters. Hate the electoral college setup.

Keep on keeping on Greg. Billserle.com.
